Sadly, someone will probably pay it. I love Porsche but the ADM game with the hard to get cars just means I'll never actually get one.

my guess is things won't stay like this forever
i remember 5-10 years ago at any Porsche dealer
they were discounting 5-10% all cars those days
will definitely be back one day...no worries

this whole 'YOLO' era of buying things is limited!

GT cars have never been discounted and limited editions like the Sport Classic and Dakar never will be either. The production is limited enough that there will always be people willing to pay big ADMs because they see what cars like the Speedster are still trading for.

That dope can keep it.

It's just another car for the rich even at MSRP anyway.

No wonder kids these days don't get into cars. They can't afford anything worth a crap

gotta love the

$289,900 MSRP

$250,000 Market Value

yet still want to charge you an additional $250,000 dealer mark up

and now it's $539,000 for a car that has a "market value" of "$250,000" lmfao

and people mad at Tesla for killing off the dealership way of doing business

No discounts on GT cars BUT they used to be sold at sticker only—always. Things changed after the 991 and the dawn of social media car “flex” culture—

I don’t think you understand the sticker…

Guys, it’s a sport classic. How much did that 911R go for? And how much does it cost now?

It’s always like this for super limited edition collectible Porsches.

I guess this is better than what Porsche of Beverly Hills does, as they spec the cars and then auction them on site…

It is unfortunate, but Porsche has turned into Rolex(aka one of the go to "flex" brands).

Why can't they got back to those sh*t Lambos and leave enthusiast cars alone.

I'm on my second Porsche and well aware of their ADM game...

Just thought it was funny that they put the term "market value $250,000"

Then had final price at $539,000

poor choice of wording their window sticker, that's all

Must be nice to be able to write a check for those kinda toys and not lose a penny on it and most likely make a few bucks on it

Rolex also makes a great product that holds its value, much like a Porsche. I’d say that’s a good thing personally. Brand loyalty for both is strong for good reason.

I looked at getting a 992 when I got the F90 in October, but it’s crap like this that put me off the brand tbh. Much like Rolex. What was it Madonna sang once…..

Rolex have always been pretty cringey IMO. When I was a kid, it was a sign of wealth. Now it’s a sign of flex conformity.

It is so annoying that the flex bros have now put Porsche on that same pedestal. 🤮

Well, that is a collector car and the people who collect them won't even know there was a markup because their broker will be picking it up for them

Any markup is ridiculous....even a $1. It's MSRP or below for me.

At this level, it's sort of expected for those shopping to be able to toss around money as if it's toilet paper. Where I get upset is with cars that are supposed to be marketed to the "budget" crowd; especially those that are targeted to the young enthusiast. It's absolutely ridiculous that these cars are not sold at MSRP and manufacturers are not holding dealerships accountable. Two cars come to mind: Civic Type R and GR Corolla. No wonder the enthusiast market is dying off.

I only paid MSRP for a car once in my life and it was because of an insane trade that was falsely inflated due to Covid... i would never buy a car without at least 5% off again lol.

This is just Porsche playing with people's emotions, they can go and f themselves... just like any markups and long waits on M cars which will soon disappear as we watch the economy go in the toilet.

Here is a secret - check aftermarket values on Rolexes vs even Porsche... it may provide some perspective.

Better yet, go try and buy any new special Rolex model... it may just be easier to get a GT car at msrp

Correct... but not even entirely... i want to say around 2018 and even early 2019 i still saw 2015-2016 GT3s selling for 120k... that were at a 150k msrp...

Covid completely turned things upside down.

I'm sure I'd take look at the SC if I ever saw one in real life but I'd probably find an 88 Porsche 944 turbo more interesting.

can’t stand Rolexes they are some of the most boring watches around. Uninteresting!
