Engine shut off button and radio operation
I know the normal operation is one push of the engine on off button, the engine shuts off and the radio stays on and the second push of the button shuts off the radio. I noticed that sometimes the radio and engine shuts off with one push of the button. I am just wondering if there is a sequence of operation that results in that condition?

I think I figure it out, the seat belt is the key here. Take off the seat belt before pushing the button and everything shuts off with one push. |

I'm glad someone mentioned this because I was wondering the same thing. I was just afraid to ask. I'm used to the assholes on the Audi boards that would tell you to search before asking it.
Well anyway, this has been driving me crazy too. It seemed to act different every time I stop and turned off the car. I would hear the radio then hit the stop button and the car would start again. Wtf!!! This was until I realized my foot was on the brake. When I stop I put the car in park. Then I take my foot off the brake and hit the stop button. The car turns off but radio stays on. A second push of the button shuts radio off and raises steering wheel. |

Didn't work for me. With the seat belt off one-push still just kills the engine and second-push turns everything off. Door was closed.

I dont know bout the auto/start stop but mine is always on...I dont turn it off. However I did notice with the 1 push off, the seat belt/brake combo was done in addition AC was also off. When I went hm I did same combo but radio didn't turn off but I notice I had my AC on.

I think he meant when you come to a stop and park, if the auto stop shuts off the engine, then its one push and everything off. If auto start does not shut off the engine, then it takes two push.
