Unlocking rear doors

Is it possible to configure the car (2016 F10) so that unlocking the driver's door (or either front door) automatically unlocks all doors?

Yes... It's in the iDrive, under settings I believe...

Thanks, I had found that but it didn't seem to be doing what I expected. Then I discovered Profiles. The changes I made didn't appear to be "sticking" because sometimes I had unlocked the car, and sometimes my wife did. Lesson learned!

I've had an F10 for almost 4 1/2 years and still don't get the "profiles" thing. Then again, I never use the fob to lock/unlock the car; I just use the Comfort Avess.

I haven't quite got my head aroud profiles yet either, they seem like a nice idea but I'm not quite sure when they're applied and updated. At the moment I think our two profiles might be stepping on each other depending on who unlocks and locks the car when we go out together. I need to do a bit more research.

I had the equivalent of BMW's Comfort Access on my last car and would have liked it this time around too. Buying used though, you can only take what's on the market.

Hi,

I am new to this forum and new to owning a BMW (parents have had them for years). I purchased a pre-owned 2014 and am still learning. What is Comfort Avess?

Thank you,
Stefanie

"Comfort Access" seems to be BMW's brand of "keyless access". My BMW doesn't have it but my previous car (a Toyota) did. Simply touching a door handle unlocked the car if you had the keyfob with you. I have to say it was a very nice system and I wish I had it on my current car - I haven't yet got used to going back to the need to press a button!

Rarely I use the key to open/lock the door. I touch the door handle to do the both.

ETA: Comfort access is what I use...

It's Comfort Access where the "V" is next to the "C" on the keyboard and I fat-fingered the key !

As ThereGoesForNothing said, I don't think I've used the fob on either car a dozen times in the 4 1/2 years we've had it. AFAIK, my wife has never used the fob; she locks and unlocks exclusively with the door handle.
