Power Stop Kit installed

finally got around to installing the Power Stop Kit. Did the caliper close to the BMW emblem blue. Might try replacing the mufflers with resonators, 3" resonators, 15-degree pipe, 60mm clamp, and fashion a support using the current rubber mounts

Good job! You may want to consider stainless steel rotor set screws.

I'll be getting into my front brakes, shortly. Waiting on rotors, expecting them today! I will be painting my calipers, going with VHT Titanium Silver Blue. Also, I will be painting my dust shields, they are weathered from Ohio winters.

A few weeks ago, I installed a set of Euro mirrors. Purchased a used set on eBay, the seller imports them from Europe, CONUS seller. Installation was fairly easy, used a nylon door panel tool to pop out the old mirror. New mirrors are simply popped in. New mirrors do give a slightly wider view, I believe they are are convex.

A few weeks ago, took advantage of the HRE sale, picked up a set of HRE FF04 wheels. Fronts 20x9, +25. Rears, 20x10, +40. Went through CARid, an official HRE dealer. The free shipping closed the deal. Only took a day for them to drop ship wheels, as I am local.

I am very impressed with the quality of the new wheels. Note, I shaved off approx. 10lbs, per wheel.....FF04, 25lbs vs. OEM 356, 35lbs.

Winter projects

Well it was actually yesterday but flashed my 2015 550i to Stage 1 using Bootmod3
I also recently purchased the android app called BimmerCode and now can easily code all my settings super easy without the computer and cords....

Found a used set of Dinan axle back mufflers I am hoping to score in the next week and now just waiting for winter to be over so I can go back to summer fun tires.

lsturbointeg,

Did both front and rear. Power Stop K6023 Front and Rear Z23 Evolution Kit on Amazon is $485 and includes hardware and wear sensors. I took off the rotors and pads and reassembled, then use cardboard to mask/block unpainted areas, let dry overnight. Reassembled the next day and brush touched up when complete. I don't know of a trick for the front springs but can't imagine getting them on without scratching the paint. I think the old rotors had the speed sensor but my car has tire sensors, might not work on older 535s without losing your tire warnings. About an 8 hour job, maybe 6 without paint, your gold looks sharp, tried to get close to the emblem blue.

$485 for both front and rears? it's already $450 for a complete rear job at the dealer. i'll check out Amazon real quick

Amazon 485 free shipping if your prime, Rock Auto is 440 or so without the shipping cost. I have has these on a Lexus GS and a Passat TDI, they seem smooth and increased stopping power, ensure the break-in is done as described.

found it. Nice deal! post your impressions after you break it in lot's of pros and cons with slotted/drilled rotor upgrades over OEM

not really since I don't have BM3. I will say since i'm very familiar with turbo setups back in my import days that I would recommend upgrading the OEM intercooler and an intake to help it breath better. don't remember if you've upgraded your exhaust yet but that needs to be done as well to help with the backpressure. really you need to get your car on a dyno and have it tuned correctly

Intercoolers a are expensive as hell haha, I got a ECU tune today (BM3) and did stage 1 and I'm hearing mixed signals between that and stage 2 but rather play it safe and stay with stage 1 until I get a intercooler I guess. Btw I had to take off my intake part and all and I swear it's so hard to put back sorry if I'm not being super descriptive haha

gotta pay to play! you can't just slap something on and expect gains. just like with any build you gotta upgrade components in order for it to support the upgrades you add. with the more power you add to the beast you gotta think about engine temps and how to keep it down so across the board on any make and model intercoolers are always necessary to keep boost and temps in check.

I remember when I built my B20 for my Integra I thought I could just slap a turbo and call it a day. well the more I learned from my Sponsors at the time the motor would have to be torn down and rebuilt to handle the high boost. which involved rods, pistons, sleeved block, head, cams and fuel managements. $10k later lol it was complete.

so with your BM3 upgrade if all you have is DP and CP running MAP 1 is ideal. from reading the threads it sounds like to run Map 2 an Intercooler is needed to handle the increase in IAT's which makes sense since you're running higher boost. fuel management is already controlled with the stock OEM fuel injectors so I don't believe upgrading injectors is needed but I did read somewhere you should replace your plugs and coils. I would suggest doing more research in the BM3 thread in the engine forum as there's some pretty good info there. or reach out to BM3 for customer support. that way you don't ef up your ride man lol!

I planned on doing the performance side of my car this year but because my car will be paid off this year i'm looking into buying a M3 or the new M5 F90? if I can't find a deal with those 2 options I've been really wanting a Porsche Panamera. that 4 door is just titties

Isn't 93+ octane required for the tune to work? Where in The People's Republik of Kommiefornya is 93 octane available?

I'm on Conti DWS 06. When my run flats wore down, I decided to go with regular tires. Also, I bought a Euro spare tire kit.
