Help in changing plugs for my 2013 535i

I’ve been searching for some instruction on changing out the spark plugs on my 2013 535i. Is there a DIY for the changing of the plugs? The problems I am looking at on the 535i is getting to plugs 5 and 6 and removing the big plastic tubing that’s runs down on the right side of the engine which is blocking access to 5 and 6 plugs. There is also a small tubing that runs across the engine that will be in the way. I tried squeezing the connector to remove but it wouldn't come off. Is it a squeeze and pull or squeeze and turn. I appreciate any heads-up problems I might run into.

huh...tried finding a YouTube video for you but found only for the 550i and for the N55 335i but nothing for the F10? I'm sure it's still similar to the N55 335i tho

Having some problems getting these two connectors disconnected. In the top picture I can see three clips is there another one on the bottom? Do you just pull it apart once the connector clips are released?

In the bottom picture the connector is round and on the release clip it has ridges on opposite sides. I squeezed it and try pulling up but it wouldn't come off.

I didn't forced it because I didn't want to break it. Can someone advise how these come apart. I am trying to remove these items to get that side plastic pipe/tube out of the way to change the plugs.

Thanks.

You have the correct procedure. You might have to GENTLY twist while you pull. There is a YouTuber called ShoplifeTV or sometning like hat. He pretty much specializes in BMW's and I've seen one or three on how he removes these type of connectors. He also says you can contact him with questions.

Worth a shot...

Top picture, yes ther is also a fourthtabon the bottom. Be careful as they like the break.

Bottom picture, squeeze the two knurled sides and pull up. No twisting as mentioned above.

And then once those are removed the real fun will begin.

When I changed my plugs, I just removed the Torx screws in the first photo. Like you it was a bit of a challenge to remove it using the clips. You will have access with just the screws removed.

For a guy that's barely an adult (I believe he's something like 21) he has a TON of knowledge and experience! And to have a girlfriend that helps him work on the cars in his shop.... PRICELESS!!!!! They swapped an LS3 into her 3-Series!

You don't need to disconnect that hose at all. I have changed the plugs on my son's 335i and on my own 535i both with the N55 engine and I have never needed to disconnect that hose, at least not to replace the spark plugs, anyway if you need to disconnect it, just use one dime (10 cents coin) on each of the tabs of the hose and pull it back, that's it!
