528/535i Owners Post MPG's

2011 535i w/6MT

I get around 20mpg at best in daily driving around town. My average speed is usually in the 25mph ballpark. The F10 is pretty heavy, and it takes a lot of effort to accelerate it up to speed. I have noticed that any kind of stop and go traffic really kills your fuel economy compared to a lighter 3 series.

Revival here...

We just got back from our 5665 mile trip with our 2014 535i. On the freeway I threw it in EcoPro just because and Comfort every where else. Did about 80 miles of driving through torrential rain, some city and some mountainous driving along with the (of course) freeway driving. According to the computer I got 29.8mpg. According to my hand calculation I got a hair over 32. I'm pretty happy with that!!

24 city, 28 highway in sport throttle/shift mode
27 city, 34 highway in comfort throttle/shift mode
Have squeezed 37 highway on highway

HWY: around 8 liters per 100km (which is 29 mpg)
City: around 10.5 l/100km (22 mpg)

Weird... I can get 30+ in my 535; and that's with a trunk full of luggage and hilly terrain.

I was using car's computer data so it might not be fully accurate
Perhaps I'll get better numbers if i calculate by hand

Seems a little high to me for 535xi
Also, I started questioning acceleration after trying loaner G30 540xi

Curious, what should I check at first place in Rheingold?
Oxigen sensor, vanos solenoid, air flow?

According to my fuel logs, 19.31. Probably a 75/25 highway/city split.

BM3 stage 2 + spirited driving is probably what's driving it down the most.

2011 535i xdrive. 23mpg mixed. I'd get 33mpg highway averaged on my 800 mile trips I needed to take.

2016 535i with 60/40 city/highway driving. Getting 23.5-24mpg depending on traffic. Trips out of town on the interstate are more like 29-33mpg depending on if the wife is with me to keep me out of sport mode
