I wish they didn't go with so much black plastic on the front end. As with the new RS3 all the black plastic looks homely and cheap. BMW is also guilty of adding a lot of black plastic these days and even Porsche isn't immune as the updated Macan has all this black plastic on the front end and it looks worse than the outgoing models. I have to wonder what's driving this in the industry as it just doesn't look great.

Very interested in the Elantra N, since I want to go back to a fun compact car for a daily, but I won't be buying any car until summer 2022 anyways.

If new car inventory ramps up next year we might see nice discounts on this car.

To be fair, the supply chain issues and peoples idiocy to overpay is really the main driver of that.

That's up from $37k last year.

The Civic/Golf/Focus crowd will likely be buying this, as well as the tuner crowd. Veloster N's, K5's and Stingers have been popping up at car shows/meet ups more and more recently and are gaining a following. With the Elantra having four proper doors (versus the Veloster's less practical body style) and being of a similar price to the Veloster N, this will likely have greater reach and demand to a larger audience than the Veloster did, not to mention the warranties and maintenance are pretty generous which should help a few budget conscious buyers.

I don't think this type of car will be killed off by Hyundai, at least not before any sort of EV era. Hyundai has the funds to support their N division, and has been using Biermann and their team of poached Germans to the greatest of their abilities. Not to mention the N Division will will also be modifying Hyundai's future EV's, ensuring a future for the division.

Garage List
I was actually going to get one of these instead of a new BMW until the dealer added almost 10k in markups and BS. They wanted 47k out the door for one.

Naw.
