Speakers are acting strange... Burning smell???

My speakers just started making a very loud, awful crackling sound the other day. It's extremely loud, and usually occurs for a few minutes after starting the car, but typically resolves within a few minutes. Well, today I noticed there was also a burning smell in the car... This sound happens whether I have the radio on or not. Any ideas what it is? I attached the link for the sound bit.

I would look at the amplifier

The amplifier has a bad connection.
