BMW 2011 535i Resonator Delete Help!!!
Hello there ladies n gents!
So I'm thinking of doing a resonator delete on my 2011 535i (Non-Msport) I've finally decided maybe with the summer coming up I should invest more time and money into my car, but dont get me wrong I'm still a broke college student. Anyway, how are resonator deletes? Hows the drone? How loud should I expect my car to be? I really just want my exhaust to be a little louder and not super obnoxious, mainly why I'm not too interested in a muffler delete. So lets hear it ladies and gents convince me! Is it worth doing? Thanks a ton for reading over this and replying! Have a good one! |

People who have only done a res delete have noticed no difference. You want a mild or an aggressive sound?

It's odd that I found some videos of n55's with the res just deleted and the sound is really nice, is it because its a pretty base 535i the deleting of the res wont do anything?

The results on the F10 are not comparable. You have to start with a more aggressive setup to get our exhaust to begin making noise.

I did a resonator delete and aftermarket mufflers. The sound is pretty good. Been wanting to hear what it sounds like if I were to be on the street and someone drove my car by.
Only draw back is the slight (subjective) drone around 1.5 to 2K. I've grown accustomed to the drone at this point. |

A good straight through. I'm using magnaflo and the older it gets the better it sounds.

I've been looking at the magnaflows also, I honestly like the res gone, its super subtle and I like it. But I thought hey maybe a nice set of mufflers would do me well, could you possibly link the ones you have? How do you like em on a day to day basis?

Had them without j pipes for less than 24 hours so no, not a daily without the helmhotlz resonators. That's also subjective. They won't bolt right up either our piping is stock 2.65 and if you get an aftermarket muffler get a 3" and have a custom 2.65 coupler to 3" made.

I just got my M5 Mufflers today. A lot fourms members put these in because they do exactly what they want it. I'll let you know how they sound after installation.

Haven't had them installed yet? I was thinking of having my resonators cut out, but it sounds like there's no point (if in fact, there is no tone change).
