There's some feature in Road & Track on 'you must buy.'
It got me thinking and this would be one of many. If I could buy an older car then this would be one of many... The Mercedes S Class 500 SEC. AMG. Looks so classy in my opinion. I can imagine myself driving it. What would be in your dream garage? Rules: You can base it on anything such as looks or your grandpa had one... Update. I just remembered my sensei used to have one. I would be setting up the dojo and watch him arrive. I thought frameless windows were the coolest thing... |

Carrera gt would be the dream car.
Realistically though in the next few years I've thought about a .2 or 992 gt3 and a Tesla dual motor

Always loved the way the Z8 looks. I am hoping that the prices don't go too crazy when I get the point I can realistically afford this eye candy. |

I am happy with my M Performance M2. Actually it is the best car I have ever owned.

I would love to own a Z8 and could buy one, but parts are scarce to "unobtainable". Of course I would want the real one and not the later Alpina version. Have two friends that had them and they both have since gotten rid of them because of not being able to properly maintain them. Sad

One of the selling points was they guaranteed parts availability for 50 years. He just had the whole interior redone on his by our local bmw dealership cause it was showing some age. I never asked outright but his is a daily driver and he’s never complained to me about any maintenance issues. What are the issues?

There’s a new part number for the clutch: 21217526590 And the fact that my buddy said one reason he bought it was because BMW had “guaranteed parts availability for 50 years post production” was a sharp contrast to what you had posted. So I wanted to verify if that was accurate. It’s even stated in the Wikipedia for the car: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_Z8 ]

Only in competition red, with red twisted leather. Either set of wheels... if only I jumped back in late '09 during the Great Recession, it would be mine. Now, unobtainium for me.

2006 Ford GT
1965 Lincoln Continental (passed on an all-original back in 1995 - ugh!) 2018 Chevrolet SS (manual trans obviously) 1982 E21 320i (just passed on one a few months ago - it was pristine) 1989 E30 325i (stupidly sold mine) 1972 Ford Pinto (don't ask) 1986 Pontiac Fiero GT 1989 E30 M3 Cabrio (my friend Phil brought the first one into the US. He offered it to me when he eventually sold it to EAG - I passed on it)

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
