I just tried this with the new version. Starting in 2nd gear is very nice, smoothies out the jerkiness.. I wonder if it harms the transmission to never go into 1st for what might be years though..

Should be just fine. My old Lincoln LS had to start in 2nd to avoid the gas guzzler tax. There was a way to get it to start in 1st, but once coming to a complete stop reverts to the 2nd gear start. Then again it wasn't a ZF; it was a 3-speed with an overdrive so was essentially a 6-speed auto. Two of the gears were so close Ford eliminated one and made it a 5-speed auto.

2nd gear starts

You say it smoothed out your jerkyness, I wonder if you have the kind of jerkyness i have...... i have to baby the throttle out of most stops and wait for everything to engage before actually giving my throttle. If i give it too much throttle too soon, its almost like popping the clutch. I think I have a mechatronic issue, or my solenoids are sticking....... Either way, i think this should mask it enough to sell it to the next sucker........ |

Yeah.. I just hit 60k prob get a trans flush within the next 3k. Almost all shifts are buttery smooth right now, but I think the 1st 2nd shift in the morning was a bit too quick, which caused some uneveness.

I have a 2013 535i xDrive, and its the same. It works fine with setting moved up to 25% each. Kies Motorsports has a good video on it. After putting it in sport and holding your DSC for about 6 seconds DSC turns off completely. Our years do not show a Flag in the display, just that DSC is off. You have to hold the brake hard and pedal to kickdown switch for a couple of seconds as it builds boost.
They also have xDelete to turn off AWD by programmatically disabling the transfer case front clutches. So all power goes to the rear wheels only. $150 |

In cars without launch control xhp will still let you program a torque limit so you can dial in your own launch control setup. It will do the same thing except limit by torque not by wheel spin so you can get it pretty good.

https://www.xhpflashtool.com/blog/la...rol_explained/
Excerpt: It's also that exact mode, that is added to pre-2013 cars, when they get flashed with xHP. Even if you have a BMW before Summer 2013, the flash with xHP will update the transmission to the most recent software, which has the LC routine built in. There's only one "downside": You won't see the flag in the dash still, as that flag is not triggered through the transmission. Eventually it can be activated on the older cars with some coding in other modules, but technically it does no difference, wether there is a flag or not. |

Bad black are you doing bm3 tunes that report full toque now that xhp is out. I had originally gone mission because of their trans flash but i hate no datalogging and they don't have any options like xhp where I can adjust launch control and turn off traction control while staying in sport etc. Plus they told me would have my tune ready wed it's now sat and still nothing. I purchased it December 10th and they had me wait because I was getting warranty work done on car so that's not their fault. Now though they just keep telling me one day when I call.
