How to make my F10 make a sound when lock/unlock

Hello guys, I am quite new to the BMW world. Recently have become an owner of an F10. Previously on my Merc C-klass, I had that really cool feature where I was hearing a sound when locking/unlocking my car. It was done by the regular menu. So my question is if it is possible to do the same on my F10 - 2012. Any guidance would be really appreciated!

I believe the option is buried in the iDrive.

Nope, but from what I have already read, most probably I will have to code it, so it can come to the iDrive menu as an option. Honestly coding is something which is not very clear to me tho

Well yeah, that should be the option, however I don't seem to have it. I only have the welcome lights option to switch on/off

Can I use it with a regular cheap OBD 2 adapter? Like Elm 327 for example?

Others might work but I use this one:

ScanTool OBDLink LX Bluetooth: Professional Grade OBD-II Automotive Scan Tool for Windows and Android – DIY Car and Truck Data and Diagnostics https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H9S71LW..._KuorCbYQ3A9PQ

Does the car have an alarm option? Although - was that even an option to get an f10 without an alarm?!?

Easy to check if a Bimmer came with an Alarm. Just go to https://www.mdecoder.com/ and type in the last 7 digits of the VIN.

Then scroll down the available options and look for one that says:

S302A Alarm system

It seems liks I don't have it. So without it even if I try to code in this option, nothing will happen :/

Alarm came standard on 535i and 550i and as option on 528i, I'm pretty sure. At least in the US. If your car has an alarm the audible lock should be accessible from the idrive menu
