iDrive Controller Issue

I have a 2011 535I with xDrive, about a week ago my wife spilled a coke on the console, definitely fried the Parking Brake switch and since then the iDrive controller will only respond to the spin (not the press or side to side). An the triangles on the screen are even missing for the side to side action. I am assuming I need to replace the controller, if I do will I need to recode the vehicle? As I have done some coding in the past, I am certainly no expert so is there instructions or general guidance as to how to code if necessary?

Thanks

Should be plug-n-paly. You're only replacing what is essentially a switch.

Don't quote me though...

Since coke becomes sticky once dried, if you open up the center cancel to clean spill, it might just start to work again.

Check eBay. You may find a deal there...
