Adding the Gentlemans function - SM missing E-sys!

Whilst trying to add the Gentleman's function button i have hit a stumbling block! When coding the Seat Modules i can only see the drivers side module - SM (6d). There is no passenger side SM (6e).

I have electric seats on both sides with only the driver side having memory functions. Does this mean i don't have a passenger seat module and therefore cant activate this function?

I've coded the Drivers side module to GENTLEMAN - Aktive. Function does not work without passenger side module it seems.

It only works with both, because you have to code both. There was some discussion like this a while back on the F10 M5 forum.

The coding is telling the drivers side module to send commands to the passenger side, and for the passenger side to listen for them. Without both modules equipped and the button panel, it will not work.

So next question..... can the passenger side module be retrofitted? The seat is already electric, what's involved in adding a module?

If someone gets in the back of my car, or if my 2 year old starts booting the back of the passenger seat during a tantrum, i cant reach over to pull the seat forward as the controls are way down the side. This feature allows me to pull the seat forward without stopping, getting out and going round to the passenger side.

Also, if i do have the passenger seat quite far forward and someone gets it, they can never figure out how to move the seat back. Then after the 4th attempt they just give up and sit in discomfort for the rest of the journey.

Possibly called that from the notion that a gentleman would move the seat for a lady(passenger) ?

My plan was to just deny it was me and blame 'gremlins' in the system...

Yup... IIRC, it's a direct replacement for the factory switch.

I have the comfort seats like in image 3 and 4 so I guess I cannot add the function without losing the massage function in the seats.

Does it need to be coded or is it plug and play?
