Window Tinting in Northern Virginia
Can anyone recommend a good tint shop in the NOVA area? I've used L.A. Tint in Manassas and they were OK, but wanted to see if there's a better one.

There is another LA Tint off 28 near the Dulles Mall. They did my E60 4 1/2 years ago and the tint looked as good two weeks ago when I sold it as the day it was put in.
I have an appointment to take the F10 there this week and the same guy will be doing this car. |

Thanks. I've heard mixed reviews about the Sterling location. Please let me know how your F10 turns out, and the name of the installer. Are you going with the Pinnacle ceramic?

I did the 50/35 split on my last two cars to avoid problems with overzealous cops. I know several people with 35% all around and all of them have been ticketed at some point. Also, I heard that Va state inspection stations are now having to check tint more closely.

50% is almost not worth tinting at all, unless you just care about UV protection. I've went with 35% on a half dozen cars over the past 15 years without any legal issues, and passed the state safety inspection in June. Not to say I don't open my sunroof cover or roll down the windows when cops are around

I've been running 35% for the last 15 years and have never been pulled over for it or ticketed. I've gotten tickets for other things, but never a mention about the tint.
That being said, I just put 50% all around for the UV protection. This is my first black/black car and I didn't want to look too dark. I may change my mind later and get it redone. I'll let you know in a few weeks |
