Drivetrain message HELP!

Guys help,
I installed JB4 on my F10 N55 and I was driving to work this morning I got this message on my screen.

Could I have installed it wrong? Or can there be an easy fix?

That message is like getting a text message on your phone and asking someone what it might say before you open it and see....

The faults need to be read out to make a determination as to the cause, real or user introduced.

haha i like that one...

Read the bmw specific codes and get back to us OP.. We can help from there.
But as a start, check all the connections and such of the jb4 to start off.

Looking at your post history briefly I don't think you need to be reading out codes or trying to work on your own vehicle. I would recommend that you take the vehicle to a competent independent shop that specializes in BMWs. Leave the car there and have them call you when they know what it needs.

If you just installed a JB4, use a USB cable or Bluetooth and read codes from it. You will need one or the other to use the JB4, if you do not have it, take off the JB4 until you do.

My check engine light came on

the codes are

138701 radiator shutter. Top upper stop. Recognized to early.

122108 BOV plausibility - ignore tuner code

120308 boost pressure lower then expected

18001 catless downpipe detected

108F01 boost pressure lower then expected.

Any idea what the radiator code would mean?

It is a plausibility fault. The upper stock switch is sending a signal before it is plausible for the shutters to have hit it after being commanded open / closed. It will require a competent technician to diagnose. Reading out fault codes isn't diagnosis.

Looks like you have more important faults there though, multiple boost pressure lower than expected is concerning.

As long as the battery was unplugged during install (and you haven't shorted your ECU), you've just wired it improperly and it can be corrected without harm more than likely. Double and triple check your wiring.

Do I have to connect the fuel pressure sensor to the jb4?
Is that really optional?

Does it have to be connected? No. It just allows the JB4 to sample the high pressure fuel rail pressure in real time and inter-modulate the data the DME sees to allow you to push the envelope well into the realm the DME knows is DANGER BAD regarding high pressure fuel rail pressure.

The "flex fuel" wires not being installed properly isn't the source of your issue.

So I just got back from my mechanic and he said that the drivetrain malfunction message might of popped up becuase about 1 week ago I got a flat tire and I found one the same size but used for sale and put it on. He said that that can send a message saying something wrong with the transmission. Anyone ever heard of this?

Getting the same fault codes for low boost on EWG N55

So I have 2016 435 ix Gran Coupe with EWG
Mods: Intake, axleback exhaust, JB4 Stage 2

Today I ran it WOT and then noticed wasnt hitting boost target on Map2 (14 psi) so switched to Map 5 (Auto) and still didnt hit targets on pull 2. Missed by 6PSI. So gave it another run this time got the Fault Code Drivetrain Malfunction... yadadada reduced power blah blah. Stopped read codes and got these two

120308 Boost Pressure Lower than Expected
108F01 Boost Pressure Lower than Expected

So since my N55 is using and EWG I dont have Boost pressure solenoids to check. i also dont see andy vacuum lines. How do I troubleshoot this?

My first guess is boost leak somewhere.I deleted codes and restarted. The car feels strong but not as strong and I cant get beyond 7psi now

My second guess and I hate this one but a may be a bad wastegate?

Any thoughts on DIY trouble shooting this?

So recently I got that message. It used to go away after turning off the car.
Took it to the mechanic and finally found out what it was. For me it was the turbo solenoid that was reading bad pressure. It will say too much pressure and low pressure at the same time.

After replacing it it hasn't come back.

Definitely should be able to push more than that, even on a stock car map 5 peak boost I've seen is 16-17 psi on my 2011 PWG 535i xDrive
