Decided not to go the router option just to explore other options. Turns out, a file will make pretty quick work of aluminum as well. This is after about 20 minutes of filing. Smoothed out with 350 grit afterwards to make sure the file marks don't show up after powder coating.

If you go with filing, I recommend spraying the area down with some kind of guide coat - either actual guide coat, or just a cheap spray paint. Helps a lot in seeing where you're going with the file.

Had some logos but they where the wrong ones, not sure I will put any on it.

And picked up my new brakes lines that they made for me.

Personally, not a fan of the shaded M logos. IMO flat gradient ones look far better

Finished with the front, 760i used calipers, new pads and discs
Thing is massive while still fitting a 19" wheel in.

Question::::::::::::::::::::::????????????????

Can I use my old front calipers on the rear?
I believe they are the same as the 535i (US)

My car is a 530d eu spec.

No. Front calipers have way too much piston area. They also will not bolt up.

No, the bolts don't line up, and you would lose your parking brake.

One option is to use M5/M6 caliper with 370 rotors. They are direct bolt on. No spacer or anything.

Left Carrier 34217848315

Right Caliper 34217845816

That's what I did as well. Be sure to use your existing parking brake harness bracket and non-M5 style brake line:

Have a 535i and I need to do a brake refresh. Picked up some calipers from a 750li with the “929” stamped carriers which from my understanding are the correct ones. My question is are you guys changing out the dust shield behind the rotor?

I did not need to change out my dust shield, in fact I believe all 5/6/7 series cars share the same shield.

Bought a cheap sandblasting enclosure, cleaned up the G11 calipers, then HVLP sprayed G2 B05 Monte Carlo Blue paint.

Use F10 lines and wire harness brackets on the rear M5 calipers. M5 brake lines will rub on the F10 toe arm, and the M5 parking brake harness bracket won't work.

Rust belt warning: original lines might not come off. Mine is a '16 and the brake fitting nuts were seized on the front lines. I got lucky and just spun the new caliper onto the original line and it tightened up in the correct orientation, but this is not guaranteed to work out. I may cut the original lines off and re-flare the body hard lines at some point.
Did you have to use any brackets or anything?

No brackets, just some 12mm or 1/2" washers to space the caliper out a little since the G-series cars have a slightly different offset.

I originally had two thick stainless washers per bolt, but then got the recommended single Case washers which are 4mm thick. I just installed these the other day, and let me tell you these are the absolute thinnest washer that will work. With these the pads won't go into the outer side of the caliper unless the pistons are COMPLETELY bottomed in the caliper, and are pressed against the rubber dust seals once installed.

I recommend a spacer at least 5mm thick if you plan to track your car, bed in your brakes, or do anything that gets them really hot.

Also with the 4mm washers, I wouldn't recommend using the pads until they are completely worn out since the inboard side pistons will be sticking quite far out of the caliper by the time the friction material is gone and the rotor face is worn to minimum.

Maybe I'm a little paranoid for a street driven car, and for the record I'm likely going to keep the 4mm washers. BUT, I will be keeping an eye on things as the brakes wear.

So finally found the time to upgrade the brakes.

The new brake setup in Orbit Grey.

Left standard 348x36mm rotor right 374x36mm rotor.

Left standard 330x20mm rotor right 345x24mm rotor.

18" rims still fits.
