F10 Increased battery discharge
Since July last year after fitting Apple Car Play MMI box getting the "Increased battery discharge when stationary" message upon turning on the ignition whenever the car has been left overnight. Does not come on if I leave the car for couple of hours and turn it back on. Getting the following three fault codes:
288B00 Power management: Standby current violation 289100 Intelligent Battery sensor: Internal current measurement implausible 8020E8 Reset or deactivation of terminal 30F In August I purchased a new battery and registered it but made no difference. In November I removed the MMI box thinking it may be interacting in a bad way but made no difference. I have measured the standby current using a multimeter after 20-30mins that the car has been off and the current is in between 30mA to 50mA. Checking on ISTA for the first fault code, it mentions standby current range 80 to 1000 mA is 0 mins, more than 1000mA 164 mins. I am confused as to what is going on. Just thought I would check here if anyone has any thoughts. |

I got this a few years ago after installing an MMI box and it had me stumped, literally tried everything even powering off idrive when doors shut (via bimmercode)
In the end I just unplugged the IBS cable from the negative terminal on the battery which fixed the issue of the 'Battery discharging' message. Removing the MMI box would also fix it but I can't live without a reverse camera and Android Auto now.. |
