F90 M5 Vent Style Front Bumper Conversion(Updates pg3)

Interested in your guy's thought and opinion. I'm looking to upgrade. I like the M5 front but don't wanna do something my car is not. I like the MSPORT but everyone has that. This looks interesting as I do like the new F90 front bumpers. Tho there's probably not a aftermarket lip kit for it but I probably could put a universal splitter on. But I like the bigger openings in the front. It is made out of polyplene and not fiberglass so that's a good thing. Keep in mind my car already looks aggressive so I'm not on the keep it simple look. I'm always looking to mix things up as I'm kind of bored looking at my car since I haven't done cosmetics wise in awhile since completing the car.

Or this. This is also made out of polyplene

I looked at the M4 one. But yeah love that first one you're looking at. They all look great. My fear (from past experience) is fitment, and quality of build/product. I want everything to be as good or better than OEM. Even if the fit is fine, maybe there's wind noise at high speeds. The lip isn't the hardest part to solve, you could fine something eventually. For me its trusting the fit and quality. I do think China and Taiwan are great places now to get these things, unlike a few years ago. I just wish they'd show more pictures like the back so you can see how well its made to fit out the box.

It's different, doesn't look bad at all. I'm sure with bigger venting provides slightly better air cooling. Little bit less bug splatter on the bumper haha.
Make your car yours man do what makes you happy opinions of others doesn't matter your car already turns heads haha, even mine does stock AF.

IMHO the grills are WAAAAAAAAY to big and distract from the flow of the front end. It's, IMHO, approaching the gaping "open bass mouth" design the Asian cars are using.

But... it IS your car.

In my opinion, the F90 M5 bumper doesn't look that great on the F10 chassis because it doesn't match the headlights. F90 headlights are hexagonal + the grill is wider (JUST LIKE THE HEADLIGHTS!) The F10 headlights are mostly round (unless you have the lighting package, then it's flat at top with the eyebrow blinkers instead of side blinkers). Also just like the front bottom middle grill!

I'm considering changing my front to a white F10 M5 bumper. Took a look at the F90 and it just doesn't seem to match. The M4/M3 front bumper looks better than the F90 IMO, but a bit too busy for the F10. The F10 style is more of a cruiser with simpler, clean lines. The M5 F10 front bumper is aggressive but only subtly so, whereas the M4/M3 screams it. I like the subtle aggressive look.

Two attached images from someone selling their 2011 535 with the F90 bumper (not my car).

For the case of the F10 pictured above it actually looks good however the MSPORT side skirts are missing and I'm guessing so is the rear. With the MSPORT I believe the F90 conversion will flow well now that the picture above gives me a better angle. Thanks for the post

This is classic ebay. Picture of the painted one is not the same as the unpainted one. Painted one has all the proper holes and spots for sensors, unpainted is cut your own. Maybe the installation then becomes super key but it starts to feel like you're putting something of worse quality on.

They are normally marked in the back for location.
One may or may not have PDC, even OE.

If you do it, post pics. ^^ I personally think the adaptive-LED lights that come with the lighting package will do more for the car (also more functional) than a front bumper. But that's me.

just showed the wifey and she thinks it looks good. i'm in the middle of my garage build so i'll probably order the bumper first. than try to budget in the paint job. at the same time i'm thinking up changing out my 3D style wing to the PSM style while i'm at it. but I used BetaLink epoxy so i'll have to remove my trunk and have the Auto Body shop remove the wing and respray the trunk.

I like the wing upgrade but is that worth it? They are not THAT different in size for overall appearance. I do like that it will continue the center cut-in motif from the roof wing to the trunk.

But sounds like you should be looking at M5's right now. You want to put so much more money into this car and it will be a pure loss. M5 will reset you back to project base car and you'll have more fun with that. Part this car out, sell it and get an M5

or

Your car back to stock, parted out, and you've got what $16k in hand. M5's $34k. Small loan for 4 years (or not) but the monthly on that's going to be like $400. Boom! M5!

I love our cars but if I was going to put even $5K into upgrades I'd first upgrade to and M5.

I'm waiting for an email back on the carbon fiber lip kit. The bumper they're selling is $600 bit they didn't tell me how much the lip will be since it's made for this bumper. Whereas the F90 front bumper there's no front lips available yet.

I just paid the car off so I'm not looking into another car payment since I'm planning on keeping her and I'm looking into a few Porches in mind. I just want to finish up the F10 and move onto my next car. Thanks for the insight tho
