Retrieve FSC from retrofitted CIC navigation update
Hi,
I have a BMW F11 with CIC (small screen no navi). I bought CIC with bigger screen and Navigation (pre-owned) and installed it on my car. Navigation and GPS works after installation, however, the maps version is 2012 and I want to update to 2018-1. I have: - 2018-1 Premium maps on CD. - E-Sys - FSC generator. I have tried retrieving the .hex file and generating the FSC code, however, any code I generate does not seem to work. The process I did to generate FSC: 1. Through E-Sys, went to FSC extended. 2. Filled in parameters: Diagnostic address (hex) = 0x63, Pressed Identify = HU_CIC was populated. Application ID = 0x1B, Upgrade index = 0x1 3. I moved the "store FSC" from left to right. 3. Pressed "read button" 4. Pressed "save" and named the file in the format (xxxxxxx.fsc) where xxxxxxx is replaced with the retrofit CIC VIN. I opened the .hex and could read that the VIN did not belong to my car but the donor CIC. (The file is 319byte). I then read and followed this guide using their generator: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1461515 However, the FSC I generate does not work when trying to update. Does anyone have an idea of what I am doing wrong? Is certain coding required or so? |
