Where to sell car?
Debating on selling my modified 535i to pick up an M4 or move onto a Porsche.
Any idea on the best way to go about this? I don't think craiglist is worth it considering all the random people you get tryna just drive around a nice looking car. Im located in the Bay Area. Pictures: View post on imgur.com

Check with CarMax if they are around.
I've sold cars on CG. The trick I use is that I have the "TextFree" app which gives you a fake number that people can contact you without giving your real number to the world. Also in the CG make sure they have funds before allow test drives. |

CL is still your best bet.
The only time I allow them to drive the car is after I am holding all the cash. If they are looking to see what a car drives like, I tell to go test drive one at the dealer. I've sold all of my cars either on the forums or on CL.

I sold a few at CL, but only if you have the time to meet and show the car to potential buyers which may not or may take months to sell depending on your luck on finding the committed buyer, lately, I just took the car to Carmax or trade in the car when buying another one from the dealer with the mindset that I will loose a couple of thousand dollars with the trade in, but hack, I no longer want to drive around and show people the car and end up not able to sell it for months, which I would probably end up loosing the same amount of the money because car would be depreciated anyway due to accumulated mileages and ages. And to me, anytime after I move on to the next car, I enjoy the new car and eventually forget the car price that I traded in or sold anyway

I sold one car through autotrader, and another through the enthusiast forum for that car.

I've had great luck with Autotrader. For me, it was well worth the fee to not deal with Craigslist flakes and to actually sell my cars. My favorite sale was my M3 to a serviceman being discharged who saw it on Autotrader in Afghanistan!
