...or after two laps, DRS is enabled, and Rosberg goes whizzing by Hamilton.

Totally agree -- a win was never "in the bag". Hamilton stated after the race they were on different strategies and he expected a long, hard race.

Hard to gauge after 2 laps, but it didn't look like Hamilton was going to "pull a Vettel" and would be ripe for DRS-enabled overtaking.

Finally got around to watching the race last night. The bottom line, and others have said this, is that if that was anyone other than Nico, these conversations would not be happening. What ever happened to "you must leave space" when another car is next to you?

I don't have a dog in this fight but my first thought is that HAM simply closed the door on ROS and it bit him. Sure, ROS could have braked with one iota of increased pressure but HAM could also have left him a little more room knowing full well that he was right next to him. It was a racing incident and nothing more, in my book. These incidents happen at lightning speed yet they are discussed like they are premeditated acts. It doesn't make sense.

The 'rule' is if a driver is not more than 1/2 a car length attempting to pass you that they are supposed to give way. There is no effin way someone clearly in front and on the racing line should have to move over.

Correct, there never was a door to close. Rosberg tried to create one which is very different. How often do you see an F1 driver of HAM's caliber give room when he is leading a race to someone who is clearly behind and try to intimidate them? Would Alonso, Schumi, Kimi, Senna, Prost etc,etc do that? Not a chance and ROS know it since he wouldn't either.

Sorry, but anyone who think Alain Prost is a good reference to efficient, successful and fair team work has no credibility with me. I'm not meaning yourself but Maurice...

In a way I feel for ROS being deeper and deeper into the position of being Prost and HAM being Senna. I'm no big ROS fan but I don't think he deserves that just yet just as I think Senna's shoes is a bit too big for HAM.

“I look forward to concluding the season with hard, fair competition on and off track right up to the final lap of the season in Abu Dhabi,” Rosberg said.
Of course you look forward to clean racing, now that you are 29 points in the lead...you f*cking prick.

And now with an apology he looks like a decent guy. You got to admire the plan, execution and result even if it stinks to high hell for us that can see it for what it is.

“Suitable disciplinary measures have been taken for the incident,” the team added in a statement, without disclosing the exact punishment for Rosberg

I want to know!!

He probably had to stand in the corner and watch while the rest of the team got a free ice-cream.
