I gave the 2012 base to my wife (she really doesn't care) and I got a 2014 M-Sport. Took it on an east coast road trip and loved every minute! I can't wait for another!! |

At the dealer getting the Silver/black 550i M-sport. Its sweet! Definitely want to try coding it again... I liked being able to close the trunk with the fob... I foresee tint and sway bars in the near future.

2014 535d - my daily commute is ~60 miles up and down a mountain pass (Hwy 17 for the Bay Area readers) and I'm getting 33mpg average. On long highway trips, I can travel for ~550-600 miles getting close to 40 mpg. I love the fuel economy of these diesel engines!

'16 550xi - 25mpg all highway on a trip to Boston from NYC in comfort mode going about 65-70mph. Did very little hard driving.
~17mpg during the week commuting to work on mostly highway but some stop and go and a little city (about 30mph). Some aggressive pulls. |

'16 535d standard suspension (upgrade from 528i) with 18 inch wheels, 245/45/18 all season Continental RFT's remounted with new ones 5,000 miles ago. 2-4 PSI above recommended with meticulous tire/car break-in and maintenance.
Routine driving is light city, rural flatlands up to 80 mph but mostly 50-70 mph. Computer is pegged to 36.1 mpg. I drive a bit conservatively but accelerate when needed. Wifey doesn't like me driving with my foot on/off too much so its a little like a hyper-miler would. I don't like using my brakes much from the days of driving a Suburban and motorhome with plenty of distance from cars ahead of me. PL |

I have the same car but with xdrive and I do 19.1mpg in the same conditions
Strictly highway and I can do 23mpg, while in sport and occasional passing. I learned putting 89 octane instead of 93 has the car running smooth and give better mpg. Around the dc area we don’t have 91, except at those really small gas stations, so it’s one up or one down. |

520d with 99,000 miles, currently getting 51.5 mpg overall average. I think my UK mpg figure probably equates to around 43 mpg US.
I never reset the mpg trip, I just let it roll on - I think it records a rolling 5,000 miles. I did have it as high as 59.5 mpg (49.5 US mpg) average but that took a lot of work to do it .... no not pushing the car type work! |

Just for perspective, I'm averaging 16.8 mpg in my M5. I used to get around 24 mpg in my old '13 535i.
