Tire recommendations...
Well, my Eagle LS2 run-flats only have about 3/32 left so it's time for new tires.
I run the square setup 245/40/19. My car is a 2015 550i M-sport X-Drive. From what I have read, the stock LS2's are not preferred. So, what tire should I go with? I don't have to have run-flats, but I'm not opposed to them either. Last edited by 3-Bag; 12-12-2019 at 10:52 PM.. |

Looking for all season or summer?
I personally have Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, and it rides great. A lot better than my old run flats. Definitely performs better as well |

I plan to run them year-round. Oregon gets a lot of rain, sometimes some snow and beautiful summers. So I guess, all season would be best.

Continental DWS 06 - Fantastic tread life, very quiet tire and has great all around reviews in various conditions. Have them on our 335d currently and I’ll be adding them to my 535i when it comes time.

Yes, a great A/S tire. Treadwear is 560. In the rain, they perform well. Rim protector sidewall. I run these with my HREs.

I had these on my 535i and they were great. Seattle pretty much is the same weather and these tires worked well in the sun, rain and even snow. Highly recommend.

Totally agree. I put them on about 3 months after the run flats I got on the car when I bought it were basically done. So happy with the switch. I've had all sorts of tires including PS2's over the years from e30's through my F10 and these are on par but a bit cheaper. I've got about 7k on them so far. Very happy.

I went with EAGLE SPORT ALL-SEASON, little better tread life, have 8K on them so far so good, went to 18" rims, a little softer ride. Here is the tire rack ratings, this package was $1640, mounted and balance with warehouse pickup at Tirerack.

Vredestein Quatrac pro Or Quatrac 5
https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...odel=Quatrac+5
I would reccomend you look into the Quatrac Pro.... Or Quatrac 5 the reviews don't really lie. The research that I did was comprised of Consumer level reviews and what I guess we would deem and expert/pro wright ups https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...el=Quatrac+Pro Crazy thing is how highly rated they are but i don't see many folks speaking about them yet. In fact, Vredestein invented the first all-season with the 3-peak sign about 25 years ago with the original Quatrac in 1993, beating Nokian's original WR by many years. I think they are making there way back into the US market. They seem to have a past way way before my time. Established in the Netherlands... Dig around ..... just another option that I'm loving rite now. Way better than what I ha. |

Speaking of tire recommendations...
We'll be in the Arlington, TX area early next month (2/1-2/4) and need some tire advise. I've looked at the weather and the forecast is pretty cold at night with the lows in the lower 30º's. My car has Michelin Pilot Super Sport's and my wife's has Bridgestone Driveguard's. Will it be too cold to risk driving on the Michelin's or should I just take my wife's car? THANKS! |

Made it OK. The lowest outside temps we saw was 28º and the lowest tire temp was 63º; that was dry. We did hit a very light flurry (snow also at the side of the road) near Pecos, TX, but the road was relatively dry and the lowest temp was 33º or so and the tires were upper 60's.
All-in-all I wish we had taken my wife's car. Next time I'll order early and get all-seasons; either ROF's or regular tires. |
