Anyone have this issue?

I have the adaptive drive suspension (the $6k package that electronically stiffens and softens when settings changed) and it squeaks when the car it is cold, and goes away after driving for a little. Idk if this is normal or not, and deff don't want to go through changing the struts on a 8 year old car when each strut is about $1k each.

Other than that car handles well, and there's no noise when warmed up.

I have dynamic damper and same issue. Hear squeaking up front in the mornings. I will never replace the struts so I do not care.

140k. At this point I am not really benefitting from the adaptive suspension - comfort, comfort plus, sport, sport plus all feel like the same shit LOL

Car drives just fine otherwise

How do you know it's a strut, and not a failing bushing or ball joint, or sway bar links, or sway bar bushings?

I don't think those components are going to fail at 60k miles. And if it were one of those components I'd presume the sound would be in all weather conditions, and constantly. It only happens in colder weather and when the car isn't warmed up. However, correct me if I'm wrong

Why couldn't the rubber in a bushing or ball joint squeak at cold temps? In my personal experience I've had way more instances of squeaky rubber (half a dozen) than struts (0). Dozens of parts move with suspension compression, not just the struts.

IMO a good course of action would be to find something that always makes it happen like turning the steering wheel, or bouncing a corner or whatever and have an extra set of hands and ears help to narrow down to where on the car the sound is coming from. You could also hit some of the components one at a time with a short spritz of silicone lubricant to see if it goes away for a bit.

Sure it could be a strut, but I would blame a lot of things before struts. You might have a problem with a cheap sway bar end link that's easy to change and your problem is solved. Or you might have a lower ball joint ready to separate and potentially cause a major wreck.
