530/535 brakes on a 520D
Hi all
I've seen on some social media accounts; owners of the 520D, upgrading their brake setup to use 530/535 brakes i.e. using the bigger, 348mm 530/535 brake discs, larger calipers (including carriers). Has anyone done such an upgrade on here? I understand it's a 'straight fit', but still doubtful, as most mods are never that simple! If I got hold of calipers (including carriers), brake pads, 348mm discs off a 530/535, am I good to go, or do I need other parts too? I've heard a bigger brake dust shield/cover is also required? Thanks in advance |

If you're going to do an upgrade then get an after-market kit. Other than being slightly bigger the larger-engined cars still have the sliding single-piston caliper rubbish.

Thanks Xenon. I hear what you’re saying, especially regarding the caliper style. However, I’m just thinking of the cheaper option is to stick with used OEM brakes off the bigger engined models. I’m thinking a complete aftermarket setup would be more expensive.
