BMW F11 hifi 676 audio upgrade

Hey,

Want to share my steps for upgrading hifi 676 audio system.

All system connected active, amp with integrated DSP.

What i’m done:

1. STEG BM25 tweeter front doors;
2. STEG BM4C mid front doors;
3. STEG BM8II subwoofer under seats;
4. Helix V Eight DSP with HEC BT HD card;
5. Soundmagus PK600.1 monoblock subwoofer amp;
6. Helix conductor controller;
7. DD audio 212 subwoofer 350rms with closed enclosure box;
8. New extra 1.5mm2 wires to front doors with oem door connector pins, used free door connector pin places, electric windows bigger pins, connected all speakers for active setup.
9. Power wires 20mm2 from battery to AMP place to distribution;
10. Self made hifi 676 connector, to connect oem wiring without cutting.

Front doors tweeters using oem wiring, mids using new wiring.

Speaker wiring:

1. FL tweeter;
2. FR tweeted;
3. FL mid;
4. FR mid;
5. FL underseat sub;
6 FR underseat sub;
7; FR center;
8; Rear L+R speakers mono.

Added HIFI 676 amp connector schematic.

Nice job! Many thanks for the info on the pinout. I'm thinking of doing some upgrades here and there, and having the stock amp pinout is very useful.
Now I need to go find budget friendly stuff here in Argentina to do a proper AMP+DSP upgrade.

Cheers!

Hello conra ,

After searching a lot pages, for good pinout, BIG thanks for mrpingu for send me oem schematic, double checked all wiring, polarity and edited final schematic

Connector (1pc for BMW E90 E53 small power amplifier plug power male female 42pin 20pin adapter plug shell connector) with pins you can buy at aliexpress, its about 17 eur with shipping.

Then made connector, all worked from first try, without troubles.

If you do not want to cut any wires, order male/fermale 2pin speaker connectors with pins, for using/extending oem wiring.

For best result, you must do wiring for +1 speaker wire from rear to front door, get all system work active without external filters (just center and back speakers leave stock with filters).

For integrated amps with DSP you can search for Helix, Audison and more known brands. I used Helix, because my friend tested this brand before year.

Now i used new tweeters STEGSQ32, used blank covers from bmw without tweeter, but locations are not good. Ordered rings, to make a little corrections. I will try make some pillars with good possition.

Very timely thread!

Looks like you are still using the original 7 channel Hifi amplifier, correct? Any issues tuning it with the dsp? Do you find it has enough power?

No, i removed hifi amplifier, using subwoofer mono amp and helix dsp amp. Helix V eight mk2 has enought power for me. Its really loud. DSP tuning not very hard part of this.

Lookin good!

I guess those tweeters wouldn’t fit in the regular sail panels from a car with factory tweeters?

Can’t fit with factory tweeters said panels, but can fit with said panels without tweeters, need just cut hole. But with stock said panels tweeter position is very bad, need custom pods if you want make good position.
