70-80mph Vibration FIXED!

I had exactly the same issue on my F10 520d MSport from when I bought it a year ago.

I changed tyres, all the brakes, suspected buckled wheel so I bought refurbed wheels but nothing solved it.

Then, last week, the lower coil snapped on the rear spring. I had them changed for BMW original parts at my local indi for £375 including the springs and the wobble has dissappeared.

The car drives sublime again. Rear has firmed up too.

The road force thing is junk, don't waste your money.

I've been searching for a solution to this issue for a year now and hundreds of people seem to be having this issue please spread this solution.

Did you change the coil spring only, or did you change the shock absorber also?

Check you Prop Shaft center Bearing. Youll have to remove the coupling off the differential for it. if its cracked youll get the vibrations. If its not the case its in your axles.

I would have to disagree that road force balancing is a joke. I had a vibration at about 60-70MPH after I got my wheels powder coated. Wheels were straight and true only thing that changed was the coating. Shop is a reputable shop that I always go to they balanced the wheels again same issue. I was under the assumption they RF Balance every time but that was not the case I had to ask for it specifically. Long story long during the RF my rear tire needed to be rotated slightly on the rim for it to balance out on the RF machine. When they took the tires off for PC the tires went back on the rim at a different spot. A normal wheel balance did not pick that up and was reading out balanced. Vibration gone. Not all about the tire spinning but also the force at speed where it is ideal for the tire to sit on the rim. I would make sure you are actually getting a road force balance you'd be surprised at the results compared to a regular mount and balance.
