Help me diagnose this sound,,, 2014 F10 N55

hello all!

just recently picked up my f10 3 days ago! Awesome car, love all the creature comforts, power is smooth and handles great for the boat that it is! been enjoying it a lot but have noticed a couple quirks and unsure if normal, given mileage, mods etc.

year: 2014
model: 535i m sport w/6spd manual trans
miles: 110,000
mods: CTS CAI, VRSF Charge pipe, Mhd stage 1, VRSF Catless DP w/resonated meisterschaft valved exhaust (sounds amazing btw)
outdoor temps: 35f-55f

i will try to explain as best i can..

so over the last few days, upon leaving from work, i have noticed this "clicking" sound while driving, mostly out of my parking lot, its rather large with a lot of lower speeds. 15-30mph it is pretty faint, as i have to be coasting in order to hear it over the exhaust.

it is NOT rpm or load dependent, and can NOT be heard at idle. only while moving... so to me this rules anything engine related? i thought maybe a boost solenoid cycling like in my other boosted cars.. but its not anything to do with RPM, could be trans related maybe? any plastics underneath car that could be tapping on something? shocks or dust shields to check?

it is hard for me to say that is "goes away" when accelerating or under load, but that's how i perceive it. even when accelerating slowly in 1st or 2nd, 3rd, it sounds as if it goes away, but when i go to let off or part throttle or let off completely let it "coast" that's when i can hear it. this could be due to the fact i cant hear it over the exhaust, but can definitely be heard both ways, if i clutch while in gear or throw it in neutral and coast at lower speeds. so makes me think its NOT trans related if it does it in neutral AND with clutch in? maybe drive shaft rubbing? cant really hear it with windows down either... but to me it sounds like its coming from the front end/engine bay area. rad fan maybe?

was going to try on my way home today to see if it, 1) is it consistent as described, and 2) try to replicate the sound and while coasting tap the brakes and see if that changes anything. 3) see if when i get to my neighborhood at home, try to replicate sounds after 20 mile drive to see if its only happening when "cold", or while hot as well. 4) is it speed depednant? does the frequency of taps increase with speed or is it relatively constant?

has anyone had something like this or have any suggestions?

any help or advice is much appreciated!

okay so mild update..

-very constant and repeatable when leaving with the car completely "cold" sound most notable between 5mph-35mph. i will try to get a audio recording of it soon

-tapping the brakes had no effect on sound.

-i can confirm the sound oddly enough went away by the time i got home... so it is only happening when cold?

-the sound is speed dependent, so the frequency of taps does increase with vehicle speed, but is not RPM or load dependent.

have not had a chance to get underneath the car and remove under trays...

but my best guess is possibly a heat shield touching on the driveshaft?

if anyone has any ideas I'm all ears. I will report back once i can do some disassembly and see what i find!

Guibo? There is a damper between the trans and the driveshaft which cracks at higher mileage - maybe you're getting some rotational noise as a result of a guibo starting to go bad? A recording could be helpful.

Do you have exhaust flap? Try with wd40 or some spray grease its shaft prom outside!
