Comfort access unlock but not locking.

2015 550i with comfort access and soft close doors.
when attempting to lock the car with the comfort access, it will not lock. It will unlock when touching the door handle but not lock. Locks fine with the fob or lock button on the dash.

Has anyone had this issue and is there a possible fix?

I had something similar, my indy had me buy a replacement comfort access module on Ebay for the driver's door, which solved the problem. It's usually the driver's door where it goes bad since that door is accessed the most. Sorry I can't be more specific, though others will probably chime in.

Good luck.

Is it just one door handle that have this problem or all 4 have the same problem?

If it’s just one, you most likely have a bad door handle. If it’s multiple then it’s something else

I just checked. So, from the car being locked none of the handles will unlock the car. I can hear clicking from the trunk area like it's trying to unlock but not unlocking.

All four handles lock as normal.

Without a scan with ISTA, it’s hard to say since all 4 have the same problem but if I have to guess, it would be the CAS module since it does work partially for all 4 handles

It's looking that way. Thanks.

I need to download Ista.

I actually had my hand on the dr door handle backwards and the car does lock with the CA. I guess it's just real picky about sensing the touch.

Are you positive that you're using the proper location to lock/unlock the vehicle using the CA door handles? I was thinking to ask the question as I read through the thread (because you only mentioned the "ridges)...and the last post make me think you may only be touching the ribbed part of the door handle.

There are TWO different location (according to the owners manual) on where to place your hand to lock or unlock the vehicle using comfort access.

The ridges on the handle (#2 in diagram below) UNLOCK the door...inside the door handle are two capacitive sensors (#4 & #6) that UNLOCK the door:
