Official: The 2014 BMW 5 Series. LCI Facelift Photos and Details (and US Pricing)

I like:
- Diesel engine option, even if it won't bring a significant fuel economy difference compared to 6-cyl gasoline. This + xDrive might finally convince me to switch to F10 for next primary car.
- Looks like they might bring a proper multi-contour seats? My current X5 has more seat adjustments (with its multi-contour seat option) than any current US-specced F10 model, which is kinda ridiculous...

I dislike:
- "We need to throw moar chrome everywhere! For simple-minded customers, chrome = luxury!!!!!"
- Oversized iDrive controller. I've used the "drawing doodles" pad on new Audi models, I didn't find this option useful (not a substitution for a proper voice command controls) and I do not want to see the clone of this option in F10 :-/

Strictly speaking exterior... some cheap looking and disturbing exterior design trends that are showing up...

I always admired the clean uncluttered lines of my E60, especially the lack of chrome. Chrome details with no apparent reason crept into the initial F10 with sidelight trim, door handle trim, etc.

The lower front grill of the F10 has always been awkward looking to me at best, the M sport looking "correct". Now have more chrome trim in the lower grill in an attempt to clean up the design.

Chrome trim in the rear bumper and "luxury" stamped in the sidelights. Really? Sorry but this looks weak and very un-BMW.

I truly don't understand the fascination with launch control. As an owner of an E92 M3 w/ DTC for more than 3 years, I have never even thought of using it. Why would anyone care about it on a non M 5 series???

Must say BMW was smart to announce its facelifted 5 Series and M5 and M6 Competition packages shortly after Mercedes’ W222 S-Class unveiling, not to mention the fact that virtually undisguised 2 Series photos have magically surfaced as well. Different model classes aside, gave people just enough time to go gaga over the new S and then placed its unveiling in the ‘lesser new’ news category...

Agreed. I had it on my E92 M3, too. Never had the road space, nor urge to use it.

Sat in the new E class yesterday. External design is atleast as good as 5 and probably a bit better. Beautiful flowing lines and beautiful headlamps and rear lights.

However, interior is total crap. the dash looks of lower quality and worse design than my e90. Sea of cheap plastic buttons. Whats up with the phone dialpad right on the dash. Same crappy interior in ML and CLS.

MB needs to up their interior game. BMW and Audi in current generation are way ahead.

Does anyone know where the front indicators are? I have watched all the driving footage and it shows the side and rear indicators working but not the front one....any ideas?

The 35d motor has less power and torque than the old one?

Looks like the US 535d is a rebadged 530d, the same way that our 328d is a rebadged 320d.

Whereas the real 535d has 300hp.

Gotta love marketing people.

Looks like the front turn signals is now the eye brow which is lit up. Overall nice little improvements to an already beautiful design. To your average Joe people won't even be able to tell the difference between the old and the new.

You are right… The 535D sold in the UK/Europe is actually 313bhp

Was that a red interior that I caught in one of the pictures? I wish they would release all the options when they do a press release. I feel like they are dragging out the hype. Could be that I'm really anxious since I need to decide to order a 2014 or a 2013!

Would love to know what exterior/interior colors are now available and what the packages are now.
