Hey guys,

Welcome to my build thread of my '13 BMW 535i XDrive w/ MSport package. It has about ever add on besides night vision. Purchased my car in early August 2016 as the second owner (lease return). I've been modifying here and there as time allows. I'll try to keep this as updated as possible.

Current photo of the car:


Modifications (newest to oldest):

- Removed Front plate relocation. I didn't really like the 6 bumper plugs so I took off the tow hook mount and put back the OEM frame.


- Front plate relocation: Friend had an extra tow hook license plate so I went ahead and made the plugs myself (Guide: https://f10.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1476465). It was kind of a pain mounting the plate so that the front sensors wouldn't go off but finally got it. Then put a tint cover over it for a smoked out look.


- H&R Springs from TireRack.com Installed at home. It took about fours hours but worth it. Main reason it took so long was because of rusty bolts. Used a spring compressor from an auto part's store. Here a photo a day after the install. They settled in about a week after. After a week, went and got an alignment.


- Muffler Delete with 3.5 inch burnt tips.


- BMS F10 N55 Performance Intake. Purchased it from another forum member on here.


- Tinted head and tail lights. Bought the tint from vvividshop.com and installed at home (with little brother help)



- Painted 351 OEM Rims. Friend owns a body/paint shop in Seattle so he painted my rims glossy black


- M5 Mufflers: Purchased them off of forums and had them installed by local muffler shop


- Rear Diffuser: Purchased from Ebay: his took a few hours mainly because I take the rear bumper off completely and fasten the diffuser to bumper.


- Front lip. Bought this lip off of eBay. It came in about a week or so. It was just ABS plastic unpainted so I wrapped in CF to give it a real look with a 1/5 of the price. I used 4 self-tappping screws + 3M tape to hold it secure. Fitment for me is good.



- High kick spoiler. I purchased a high kick spoiler from here. It came within a few days. Color matched perfectly.




- CF Vinyl the door handle trim so officially no more chrome on the car. Purchased it off of Amazon, super easy to install and clean look.


- Painted front fender reflectors. Purchased here.


- Painted rear reflectors: http://ind-distribution.com/ind/cate...ear-reflectors


- Spacers: Purchased spacers from BurgerTuning.com. They came with the extended bolts. It was pretty easy to install (video coming soon). I installed 10mm fronts and 15mm rears


- Black outed the decals on the back ($10.00). Using auto safe tape to tape off the decals and then use PlasticDip to black them out.


- New grill ($80): Purchased new M5 Style grill with M colors from eBay


- Tint ($180): 20% all the way around. With lifetime warranty. Completed at Auto Tint Northwest

Great idea and most forums have a thread like this…..however, car is been out for over 6 years so it is very mature and whatever needs to be done to it have been done one way or another other.

I am usually a 1st year production buyer and have mostly been on "discovery" stage as after market parts become avail and etc…. I bought an outgoing F10 1st bec I got a killer lease deal 2nd, I've always liked F10s and N55 engine is one of my favs.

Not sure how much of a traction this thread will get.

I have bunch of stuff coming in and I will post them but all have been done before

PS: For $160 tint job, make sure it is non metallic tint and I would go 15% all around. The limit in WA is 15% back 35% front but I have never been harassed for having 15% all around.

I would highly reccomend a black vinyl roof wrap. I have a silver 535 and it looks amazing.

Not a bad price for the tint.

For the grill, the colors seem a bit bright in the pictures. I think the grills with a smaller stripe look a little bit better to me, since it stands out less.

Great job with the door handle trim.

Did you remove the chrome pieces before wrapping them or wrapped them while they were still on the car? They look great.
