Or ANTIFA, if ever there was a group that should be shut down that's it.

One of the sales pitches from the NRA was an add-on liability insurance when carrying. Don't know if it is still available, since our governor threatened to go after their insurance carriers to cancel their NRA policies.....
I’m also in NY and hear you. Thing is, the NRA picks it’s battles pretty well, while they do help us here in this state and would be much worse here 2nd amendment wise if they didn’t do their thing but they also need to concentrate more on the federal front, like preventing country wide bans which Clinton gave us and they’re trying to do similarly now but much more intrusive then even that ban was. We know if we’re up to that arrogant prick cuomo we would not have our rights at all. The NRA is in a large part responsible( behind the scenes) for that jerk not implementing his grab plan. NRA was and will always be the big hitter in protecting our rights. Give to multiple 2nd A organizations that protect us from the leftist rights grabbers.

I belong to the NRA but increasingly I see them as an organization onto themselves like the NCAA. But they are the only game in town

About a decade ago I gave up. Their CONSTANT appeals for me to add years to my membership (read send them more $$) when I already had 2-3 years of membership left, led to my failure to re-up. I still support them in spirit, but no longer with $.

I always thought the NRA were too far 'out there' on gun rights. Recall the teflon coated bullets battle from long ago. Their give the gun control people an inch and they will take a mile stance struck me as a bit of bs. Now I'm starting to see they might not be so wrong.

All these nutcake moves in places like San Fran (or the Dem party in general) have me catching myself in a move to the right reactionary mode.

Glad you're coming around. FWIW, I have about the opposite feeling on the NRA.

The Birthplace of the American Revolution is run by idiots. Men like John Hancock, Paul Revere and Samuel Adams are rolling in their graves.

A great local story from the Revolutionary War here is how George Washington squashed a mutiny of the troops in 1783 over being paid for their service, stopping the Continental Army from marching on Philadelphia (Capital at the time) and likely causing a military coup.....

The same city council that created safe spaces for drug addicts to shoot up.

What you see here is the early stages of a gun confiscation program.

Notice you no longer hear the libs mockingly say "nobody is coming for your guns." Because they're getting more brazen about infringing on our rights.

The government does not have enough body bags for those assigned to collect guns. And Neither Police nor soldiers will do it.

I am 0% concerned.

Confiscation would immediately trigger civil war. What many libs don't realize is that if that was to happen the military and police would NOT be on their side. The police already hate libs for obvious reasons and military personnel tend to be centrist or right leaning. Both sides are also pro second amendment.

And Posse Comitatus makes it almost impossible for the Pres to use the military for this LEVEL of enforcement. But yea civil war would break out

The fantasy perpetuated by many on here about the military stepping in to take control defies conventional wisdom. Think about this:

What if silent running, n54yankee, jockey, adc, hooligan and any other veterans on here were called to take over because civilians lacked guns when they were serving? Would they?

No

I have great faith this (a military takeover) would never happen. Only if the troops were misinformed or ignorant (like the Chinese troops involved in tiananemen square).
