528xi 20" Question
Hi all. I have a 528xi and want to purchase some 20" staggered wheels for it but have a few questions after reading through many, many, many of these threads. My car is not lowered and I have the standard bodykit and do not intend to lower it so my first question is whether 20" wheels will still look good without lowered or M-Sport bodykit. I want to avoid the big wheel + skinny tire + big gap between fender look that I anticipate will happen on my rear wheels with a 20" as my car isn't lowered. If I went with a meatier rear tire would it (285 or 295?) would that help with the look? I have searched all over the place online and have found extremely few pics of F10's with the standard bodykit and not lowered with 20"s - does anyone have a pic? Thanks.
I want to go with a staggered set and understand that this is doable on the X-drive so long as the OD is the same for front and rear wheels. That said, and assuming the 20"s will look good, can anyone recommend a good set of staggered concave wheels, preferably in black. I like the Rohana's and XO wheels so far. I want to avoid having to use spacers. Sorry for so many questions - I'm just getting into cars and don't know a ton yet and don't want to buy wheels that won't fit or will look bad. Thank you in advance! |

The tire sizing depends on the wheel you decide to go with and its specs but with the right setup it will look great I have helped out many F10 customers that did 20s on a stock non m sport and they all came out killer looking. If you want some help picking out the right wheel for you and your car shoot me a PM

Thanks for the pic. What size wheels and tires? F 20x9 & 245/35/20 R 20x10 285/30/20? Looks much better than I imagined.
I am heavily leaning towards the Rohana RC 10s as I like them and want the concave staggered look. They are F 20x9 Offset 35 and R 20x10 Offset 40. From everything I have read, I believe that these offsets would make the wheels flush without the need for spacers. Is that true? Secondly, with the Rohana rears being 20x10 and not 20x10.5, is there a significant noticable difference in the 20x10 rear wheel width vs. rears 20x10.5? I imagine 20x10.5's would typically have a deeper concave than a 20x10 and I also like the big rear wheel look. I want to order them but just want to make sure that they would be flush with those offsets without needing a spacer and that I wouldn't be making a mistake in getting them instead of a concave set with the rears at 20x10.5. Lastly, from reading through these threads, the Rohanas would look best paired with F 245/35/20 and R 285/30/20 tires. Right? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help with this. |

245/35/20 & 285/30/20 work best for our xi's. I have the same car and I'm so happy I went that route. My setup is 20x9 ET 18 and 20x10.5 ET 33 and I don't rub. I would highly recommend a drop tho, best mod I have done.

Not sure you'd notice a huge difference in concavity of a 10" rim vs a 10.5" wheel.
9" front vs 10" rear is a different story. As for the tires F 245/35/20 and R 285/30/20 will give your tire/wheel combination will provide you with ALMOST same wheel/tire diameter, so you will be fine. |

20x8.5 et35 245/35/20 20x10 et33 285/30/20 If you're going 20" on xdrive then those are the best sizes for them. You can run a 275/30/20 too but I'm a fan of the 285 out back. Good luck! |

Thanks for the help - I think I am going to buy the Rohana RC10's in 20". That leaves me with selecting tires. I need 245/35/20 and 285/30/20. I don't want to break the bank on tires so I am looking for something affordable but quality.
I have read through the threads and I've seen several people recommend the Hankook Ventus V12 evo K110 as an affordable yet quality tire, but have also read that the sidewalls on these are soft. I live in Minneapolis, so these will only be on the car in the spring/summer/early fall but I will need tires with a strong sidewall because of the potholes out here. Also, I came across this listing (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=961454) selling the Rohana's that I want + the Hankooks and in the close-up picture the wheel is sticking out quite a bit from the tire. What's that about? It looks like the wheel doesn't fit correctly in the tire/the tire doesn't cover the width of the wheel and that a mere tap to a curb would do serious damage to the wheel if it sticks out like that. Maybe he pulled the rim out just for the photo? Please let me know bc I don't like the looks of that! I have also heard that Nitto sells a good tire at a quality price. Thoughts? Tire suggestions? Thanks again in advance! |

Here you go!
View post on imgur.com I just traded it in, so I'm trying to remember what the tire size was, but the 20" rims were a 30 offset, if I recall correctly. In any event, they were not staggered, and it was xDrive, too. I traded it in on this! View post on imgur.com |

A cheaper alternative is the Hankook V12 Ventus EVO which costs 554 for a set in your size (link on tirerack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes ) The Pilot SS will end up costing you double but will be higher quality. I would personally go with the SuperSports but that's up to you. Good luck OP! |

The reviews are pretty decent and there are many members here who use them as well. Sure, the Michelin's are going to be better but unless you're really pushing your car, you should be fine. |
