BMW f10 issue

I am having an issue with my BMW f10 active 5 when it is in hybrid mode and I place it into drive or reverse it goes straight back into park and when the engine is activated it goes into drive and reverse normally

Have you tried checking for trouble codes?

Being that the problem is happening on the hybrid side and not the engine side, they may not show up on a normal OBD2 scanner, and it may require higher-end scanner that can read BMW-proprietary codes, since they could be in the hybrid sub-system, and not the main drivetrain OBD2 primary diag system
