Decided to cleanup the little bit of oil that was I. The valley at the front of the engine porby 5ml or less. Mostly preventative maintenance. I took everything off down to the heat exchanger and took the cats off to be able to re torque stuff properly. I took the cats off very last to get the last heat shield off it’s hard to stick your hand under there to clean and tighten bolts if your doing the heat exchanger it’s nearly
Impossible But I did it. ISTA says take cats of before anything , well they actually say take the entire exhaust system off. If u see what they follow then u understand why they charge so much there’s 40 something steps 16 hrs worth of work. I’m beginner car dude but I have every almost every tool u would need to work On a car accept a nice electric ratchet. Back boot of the exhaust manifold and the car bracket bolts are the hardest of the entire job. Doing cats on the chassis is extremely easy u take them off out the top. I see people struggle with other bmw and cats. I searched the internet tryna find info on this disssemble of Course I find it after. Oh well. Who else has done this? And how did it turn out for you? Replacing crankcase ventilation hose/ spark plugs, all 0 rings n copper washers. Anyone ever use aftermarket crankcase vent hose???? |
