Time for new belt tensionner?
Hi,
Just looking for some advices regarding the serpentine/accessory belt. I know it is a common topic on this forum but it seems like no one truly knows what "play" should be considered normal. Here is a video I took from mine: This is at operating temp. TURN DOWN THE VOLUME IF YOU DON'T WANNA BECOME DEAF LOL. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xh3owtb0l9...4713F.MP4?dl=0 I saw this video on an old post and was shocked how steady the belt is. What do you all think? Oh and btw my car has 90 000km (50 000 miles) - 2016.

Hoa thanks for the feedback,
Here is a video of the crankshaft pulley. https://www.dropbox.com/s/3j8gwvm1mw..._2356.MOV?dl=0 Seems normal to me. What do you think?

Looks normal to me. On each of my BMWs i have however changed the belt, tensioner and idler pulleys once the car has reached 100,000 miles. On my e90 the pulleys were shot, on my E87 (replaced in June) the pulleys and belt were fine but the crankshaft pulley (which I hadn't thought of replacing) was falling apart, on my F10 (replaced last month) the belt and pulleys were fine.

It's hard to say but I think it's ok. Try the tensioner first and see. Always do the belt, tensioner and idler pulleys together so you don't have to take everything apart every time you have to do something else. Save you a lot of time.
