Anyone experiencing battery drain?

I have 2015 535i xdrive. I've been getting the battery discharge warning everyday now. I recently installed a 6WB cluster I don't know if that could cause any problems. Anyone having any similar issues?

I got this warning few times when I left car sitting outside (perhaps due to current cold weather?) for few days without driving on my 2011 528. Dont see it if I leave car in the garage and when I drive it daily.

Do you mean "increased battery discharge when stationary"? I only get this if I leave the car parked for several weeks. If you're getting it every day there's a short, voltage leak or the car can't enter proper sleep for some reason.

So it turns out it’s my front door handles. Comfort access malfunction that is draining the battery. I also have to get a new battery. BMW is also blaming the 6WB cluster because it’s not factory. I might just reinstall the factory cluster and sell this one.

I had an "increased battery discharge when stationary" warning, was my driver's door handle... comfort access fault.

Battery was OK, charged fine again.

Yeah, unfortunately my battery is very low and they recommend that I replace it

I had the battery discharge issue a couple of years ago. In my case it was caused by a OBD2 Bluetooth adapter I had installed.

Several years ago, I had a parking brake actuator not sleeping properly. Replaced the module - hasn't recurred.

To reiterate what's been said before "Increased battery discharge when stationary" means you need to fix a problem or potentially you have an add-on that's causing an issue. It is not normal, won't just 'go away'
and could cause other problems like no starts and battery replacement.

"Charge battery" means just that - there isn't necessarily any kind of repair necessary, the state-of-charge is just too low.

door handles drain battery

I have battery drained due to comfort access door handles malfunction. The car went into complete electronic malfunction and could go faster than 30 m/h. BMW quote replacement of all door handles ($2700). Help!!!
This is becoming crazy and any suggestion is very welcome.
Thanks.

Why all door handles? Surely they just identify the one at fault and replace.

Or is it now more than just a faulty handle?

This post won't be directly of any help, but I for one would love to see some instructions for disabling CA while working through this. I'm not sure if it can truly be powered down since the door handle connections may always provide power to the CA components.

If I ran into this situation, I would like to code out and fully disable CA so that I could keep driving the vehicle without encountering dead batteries, discharge warnings, or making things worse while I waited for time to troubleshoot and/or source the least expensive repair parts possible.

I could certainly live without CA as long as the buttons on the remote kept working...

I experienced this message when I put my parking lights on.

It has really got me worried to put them on incase my battery gets flat when I return to the car.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

There's a difference between a fault induced battery drain and simply using energy consumers. Can be a similar result if we drain the battery too much. But the energy management will switch off consumers, to protect engine start.

If the battery SOC is reduced too much, you should get a reminder something like this.

Just had my last, before 50,000 miles, service done and the computer told the service advisor to change the battery. Replaced under warranty. The battery technically was new August 2015 so it lasted 3.5 years. Not bad for such a car, especially a diesel.

Many thanks

SoC = State of Charge. Basically how charged is the battery.

I have this issue but don't have Comfort Access door handles. I was watching videos on youtube to test for a parasitic drain issue and they mostly say disconnect the negative and check the voltage before removing the fuses one by one, to see which fuse is working overtime.
The issue is the fuses in the glove box are so hard to get to, does anyone know if reading the INPA fault codes would show what's draining the battery?

Car dying

I have a 2010 BMW 328i X-Drive, I recently had my FRM module replaced 2 months ago. In the last week I am having an issue were my car is completely dying (complete loss of power) and I can not boost the battery, it does nothing. If I let it sit for a day it will start again. (not sure how it is recharging the battery). When it starts it tell me to set date and time because the battery was disconnected. I can drive it and then once I shut it off eventually it dies again. I took it to the mechanic and he said maybe is was my fob, to try using the key manually, I did for about 3 days and had no issues and then all of a sudden it died again. Anyone else ever have this issue and what it may be?
