F10 high beam headlamp failure - not the bulb

Hi, keep getting intermittant high-beam faure, some days they work and some days i get the error message. Last week i started getting the message every day, so today replaced the bulb, which had indeed blown. New H7 bulb in today, but the fault remains and thhe bulb is not lighting up. Have i missed something here or is there something special about replacinng these? Or perhaps someone has come across this before? Dodgy module maybe? Or just a bad circuit? Many thanks for any advice

Depends on what kind of lights you have but ya there is more involved.
Decode your VIN to be sure.

They are basic lights, not adaptive bi-xenon or whatnot, just the basic ones. High beam is a H7, what more is involved for these to work? Does thhe headlamp module cover the high beam too and could be at fault?

Those would be halogen lights.
I would still bet there is a lighting module.
Search around around this site for some troubleshooting procedures.

They do indeed have a module, it is the black one with what looks like a vent at one end. Any info i can find says it controls the side lights and vertical aim and only lists these faulty as symptoms of a blown module. Wondering if anyone has known the module to cause an issue with high beam / flashers?

There aren't going to be many with those lights.
Did you search that site?
It is basically the bmw manual.

I would imagine there are a lot of F10 with the halogen lights actually....

UPDATE: I replaced the light module (TMS), it didnnot fix the fault. I began to test the wiring and scour wiring diagrams and i find there is another module, the main module called FRM. I re checked the fault codes from last week and found them to be Light Module FRM. D'oh!

I have obtained a second hand FRM module from a like for like 2012 F10 and will swap it in this week. Hopefullly this sorts the issue! However, i am wondering if the FRM module needs some kind of coding / programming? The TMS module is just plug and play, but not sure about the FRM? Anyone have any ideas? Cheers
