Posting here for more visibility.

I've got a F01 750 and I purchased a 6WB cluster that is supposed to work for an F10 and an F01. I'm told the unit is virginiezd and I Installed it today. After installing it, I got the red dot and all types of messages on my dash.

I didn't get it coded yet but I'm thinking the cluster won't work because of the red dot. I also let the car go to sleep for a few hours to see if the red dot would go away and nothing. I reached out to the seller and he said the following below.

"If he can't, I'll think of something remotely, but if he's experienced and doesn't try to encode with ESYS, then he will do everything, you just need to fill in the correct software for your car. Since now the F10 software can be installed, and you need F01, this can also cause errors"

Does any of this make sense or did the seller not virginize the cluster properly?

You're in the US with a metric cluster? That could be a big part of the problem.

The 6WB clusters can't be changed to work in the US?

Tamper dot will come on because cluster is not coded to the vehicle VIN. For e.g. if you took out a cluster with 100k miles and put in one with 50k miles from another VIN of course the tamper dot will come on. If the cluster was brand new or correctly virginized the internal memory should be reading blank VIN and blank mileage.

You need to get the cluster coded to your car. FA list needs to be updated from 6WA to 6WB, etc. The firmware in the cluster may need to be flashed to match the rest of the car.

You can lookup Fxx 6WA Kombi Retrofit guide which will give you a general outline of the process, or you might want to engage one of the "expert coders" to do this for you as it will need a little bit of tech skills to get the needed software running on your computer.
