I have a PRE LCI and have the 923 bracket. You just move it down one hole. I have the 105AH fits perfectly.

After I changed to a new battery they all went away.. but now still have the issue with running a 95AH while its coded to be 105AH. I'm thinking about just buying a genuine 105AH at this point. You say with the 61217592923, it'll fit a PRE-LCI? I have a 2013 535i. thx
Why not code it for 90?

Probably doesn't know how/doesn't want to fuck with it.

I'm a bit confused here as I am looking to replace the battery for a family member's car.

2011 535i built I think late 2010. Base car (no M-Sport etc)

I'd like to get the 105 Ah battery but looking at the current battery and the bracket holes, I don't see how it could fit.

This thread mentions SI B61 30 14 and in this bulletin it states that you will need P/N 61 21 7 592 923 if upgrading from 90Ah to 105Ah. I have verified that my car already has P/N 61 21 7 592 923.

The current battery appears to be H7 (80Ah and 800 CCA) based on the specs and the dimensions (315mm long).

When I look at the bracket in the floor, I can move outwards (toward the passenger side of the car) approximately 40mm based on the distance between the bolt holes. That gets me to 355mm. So it appears H8 will fit in the car (354mm is the H8 spec).

But.... the H9 105Ah battery is 394mm long. There are no more bracket holes that could accommodate this.

Unless I'm missing something, I don't see how the H9 105Ah battery can fit in my car.

The bulletin does mention that you can upgrade to 105Ah batteries on F10 from 3/2010 to 6/2013 with the N63 (the V8) engine.....or the F10 FROM 7/2013 with the N55, N57, N63T, or S63 engine.

Bottom line: the service bulletin doesn't seem to include pre-LCI, non-V8 cars, and in inspecting the battery area in the trunk of my 2011, I don't think the H9 105Ah battery will fit.

Has anyone been successful in getting a 105Ah H9 battery to fit in a non V8 car, pre LCI. It does appear that all LCI cars (i'm assuming that 7/2013 production is LCI as 2014 was the first LCI model year) will accept the larger 105AH H9 battery.

Are there differences between USA and Canada batteries perhaps? What about any "cold weather packages" that might come with a bigger battery?

It is especially confusing because Sylverlee posted above he got a 105Ah battery in a pre-LCI 535i (so not V8) to fit just by moving the bracket.

My US 2013 pre LCI (production date Oct 2012) 535 xdrive comes with an original 105 Ah AGM battery. Not sure if it’s H9 size or not.

I have a 14 535i production date 10/2013, LCI battery needed. Confirmed original battery is an H9 105aH. Replaced with the only AGM H9 105 I could find. It was from O'Reilly, a 63 lb beast. No registration problems.

Great info here...

Will be replacing my battery soon and have a couple thoughts/questions.

I just replaced my battery in a 991.1 GT3 with an Antigravity Lithium Ion battery (saved over 30 pounds) and initially thought the dealer needed to be involved. After further research, it was clear all that was needed was to plug in a trickle charger while the battery was out to ensure no reset/programming was necessary. Has anyone tried this with a BWM? Everything I have read indicates that a re-register/tool is needed, so just wondering...

Also, looking to get an Interstate H9 with 950 CCA and 100 Ah; the OEM is 105 Ah and I am getting the sense that this will make a difference, hence the re-register/coding. That correct? The new Antigravity battery in the GT3 is only 40 Ah (compared to 70 Ah OEM) and have been reassured that this is not an issue and for my usage the 40 Ah will be plenty. Now the GT3 has VERY low parasitic loss, so maybe that is why? Any insight is appreciated.

Get 105Ah. If you don't register the new battery, it doesn't know the new battery's capacity or condition so it doesn't charge your battery correctly. It is best to register it so it knows how to charge the battery and up to what percent. Keep in mind, 80% is fully charged for your car so it is only going to store 84Ah if you have 105Ah. Reducing battery size is not a good idea considering these cars are constantly awake. This is why you can track, remotely lock/unlock and run the vents from your phone.
