I am trying to see if i can wifi-direct / miracast youtube in my 2015 535i... so I have coded

so I can see the wifi option in connection now but I cannot check the box to activate wifi

could anyone help?? am I missing something in the settings? or 2015 535i simply cannot do screen mirroring?

there is not a wifi_lan_direct nor a ent_miracast in my coding list

I don't think 2015 has wifi. Start with checking if there is WiFi antenna plug at the back of the headunit.

Anyone knows for sure? don't want to rip off all the trim and head unit to get to the back just to check but it make sense bc no wifi unit so option can not be selected, but anyone know if i added a wifi module will I be able to do miracast??

where is the wifi supposed to go? even if the wifi module is there would I be able to miracast?

Notice the headunit you post has wifi icon on top but I can not clearly tell if it has wifi antenna connector on the back. IIRC is it red-ish color so maybe it's the one right under the quadlock connector.

But also notice it does not have Sirius radio version so it is not the US version headunit. And it's not a quick DIY PNP job because you need to flash the correct VIN to the headunit and load FSC codes for any of the functions to work. You can't just slap in a used unit. However there are plenty of sellers that will sell you a properly coded unit for a good price.

that is not my actual unit...I am trying see if adding a wifi module will let me miracast

I have just removed the NBT ID4 headunit from my 2015 528i USA and there is indeed a wifi antenna connection. Although I am not sure what you can do with it.
