It3_Magic White 2014 M-sport f10

Though it put up my own build so far. Got her in April this year

Its a late 2014 F10 520D

Here are a few pics from the ad when i picked her up
[/url]

She got a full service right off the bat with new tranny fluid and filter.

I put on a set of 20" diamond cut 437M in black and a black m5 style grill and told myself i'm not modifying this one. (yeah right)

I did however decide to do a 3 stage detail followed by a Gyeon One q2 ceramic coating.
Paint was pretty rough so it greatly benefited from a 3 stage.

Carbon Fiber

So since i told myself i'm not modifying it, naturally i bought a carbon fiber rear spoiler and front lips.

Wasn't a fan of the silver brushed trim so thought id wrap it in brushed graphite

I also downloaded Esys and did come coding, mainly enabling Bluetooth music, welcome lights and disabling blown bulb checks for indicators since i installed led ones.

And i lasted 3 weeks before i said i need to upgrade the exhaust, as the asymmetry was killing my OCD

What did you use for your paint correction?

I went with shine mate yellow foam pad, and started with menzerna heavy cut, then moved on to zvizzer medium cut 3000 on a orange shine mate pad. Honestly that was good enough in most cases. the boot was done using a microfibre pad and zvizzer medium cut. Most panels got a pass with heavy cut menzerna and 2 passes with the zvizzer.
All done using Bigfoot DA.

Then IPA wipedown, and ceramic coating. then after 24 hour Gyeon cure was applied.

Exhaust

Tips arrived 2 weeks later along with a rear diffuser already painted gloss black.
I was in two minds between a carbon fiber diffuser and a gloss black but in the end went with gloss black as i thought i would over do it with CF.

I got some 2,5 inch stainless steel pipe, but couldn't find any bends anywhere and since i was welding it myself (i had friendly garage that lets me work on my car) and had a specific timeframe i could use the hoist and welder i didnt have time to order any, so all i could do was to cut the pipe at an angle and weld.

Not ideal but hat to do for now.

Here are the pics:

New Tips:

That rear diffuser was a nightmare to put on, and even now its not sitting right. I'm going to have another attempt at fitting it but it requires removing the bumper. It took me about 3 hours to fit.

The exhaust is y-piped just after the rear subframe and a flexpipe is welded in to the right pipe to dampen vibration. New hangers welded in and i also had to remove that storage compartment you get in a 520d on the right in the boot. a piece of stainless steel sheet was riveted in, silicone and painted from underneath. now just needs some carpet from the top.

I used a mig welder as i dont have the equipment nor skill to tig weld.
i painted the exhaust with matt black VHT paint.

Love it! I'm doing similar simple mods on my alpine 535i. Waiting on my front splitters. I like your wheels better than mines and most everyones OEMs.

Yeah they're great aren't they, they look very good with tasteful subtle mods. Not too aggressive and close to OEM which what i was looking for when buying them. Now however im looking for something more aggressive.
