13 535i issues

Hello all, new to the forum!
I just bought a 2013 535i xDrive with 82k on it. After a full inspection of the car with my mechanic we noticed a rear main seal weeping, not enough to blacken the underbody shielding, but definitely weeping. A bad belt tensioner, and a bad rear driveshaft flex disk. I知 debating wether to go ahead and do the rear main seal and the transmission front seal + oil pan gasket while I知 there, as well as a transmission fluid change. The belt tensioner I知 currently going back and forth on the Genuine BMW kit vs the ECS tuning kit. It痴 about a $100 difference and all the parts are super high quality. The flex disk I値l get to once the major stuff is taken care of.
I値l have pictures tomorrow when the sun comes out, just paint corrected it with 2 layers of Collinite 915 applied

You should change transmission fluid.

Congrats on a new ride.
If I were you I would do all that you have mentioned needing the repair first.
1. Trans fluid change
2. Rear seal changed
3. Tensioner (upper, lower, and middle one) and belt changed as well. You can use OEM part without BMW logo from FCPEuro and be good for another 82k miles. I did that as preventive maintenance at 90k and happy. Currently at 125k.

Be ready for Filter Oil Housing gasket to be going south on you soon if not already. This needs to be addressed if happens to avoid any oil getting on to the belt causing huge engine issues when belt rips. Another is Valve cover gasket. Your Spark Plugs should of been changed at 60k. If no record, change it to know the mileage.

I ordered the belt tensioner last night and the other pulleys. The car was well maintained at a BMW dealer where the spark plugs and oil filter housing gasket was done before my ownership. I will definitely be scheduling an appointment for the trans fluid and rear main seal soon. Just out of curiosity, is there any valve that could cause excess crankcase pressure causing the weeping? or just a bad seal in general.

Check and see if you have any recalls that were never done as well. Congrats on the pickup

When you respond use the "Go Advanced" button, insert with " paperclip ".
I think you have to have like 10 posts first.
