2010 F10 Bluetooth issue
First of all, hello to everyone I'm a newbie here.
I have a problem with my 2010 F10 (model with just Aux and no USB in the hand rest area). Couple of weeks back I had a Replace brake pad error, at around the same time the Bluetooth stopped working. I had about 5 phones paired and they all disappeared and now I can't even pair any phones. When I go into bluetooth menu on the car and try to Add new phone, it shows the screen for discovering the car but on phone bluetooth I cant discovery the car. I have tried different phones (iphone/Android) but they all do not seem to work! I have tried to disconnect the battery and reconnect it back and it did not help. Do I have to replace the Bluetooth module? Any suggestion, ideas or help will be useful and appreciated.. |

As for the Blue tooth issue, I see your in Wiltshire, where? You did the battery thing and that did not do any thing so Possibly needs coding again, or using carley OR like you say, new module. I am in Wiltshire, Amesbury SP4 and have a carly and could have a look, you never know. |

PS: I got the brake pad replaced, so the brake pad error has now gone away but the bluetooth discovery is still not working i.e. Phone still cant see the car to initiate the discovery process.. Last edited by andymg10; 05-02-2018 at 07:07 AM.. |

Hi, im also new here, just wondering if you got your Bluetooth issue resolved.
i just bought a 2011 520 and didn't have my phone on me when i was checking out the car, anyway the issue im having is when i try to connect to it, it comes up on the screen of the i drive for a code, you are meant to put the same code into both the car and your phone. The car is visible on my phone but when i click on the phone to pair them it is not prompting me to enter a code on my phone. i have also tried my wife's phone and its the same. it looks like it was working for the previous owner as he had 4 phones paired but i cant get any.... |

You need to force the iDrive to reboot. You used to be able to do this by holding the volume knob in for 30 seconds until the screen when black, but depending on software revision of your car, this may no longer work. In this case, try the following:
1. Hold idrive knob in for 30 seconds. 2. Turn off car. 3. Exit and lock 4. Wait 10 minutes. When you unlock the car, you will see the BMW logo on idrive---this means a reboot. Normally, this clears the trouble and Bluetooth will start working.

Did you ever get your phone to pair with your BMW?
I'm having the same issue... very frustrating. My phone sees the BMW, and the BMW sees the phone, but phone Bluetooth keeps spinning, will not pair, or rech the screen to input the digits.

I've had an issue with phone not being able to connect to Bluetooth correctly.
After hours of trawling through forums I finally found something that resolved my issue. One of the phones connected to the car had an emoji in the phone name, this caused the issue. Once the phone was renamed (on the phone itself under Bluetooth settings) the issue was resolved. Last edited by hippy999; 09-14-2024 at 04:22 PM.. Reason: Typo |
