Winter Tires - Toyo Observe GSI-6

After years running Michelin Xi3’s, decided to switch it up to Toyo’s after talking a buddy that owns a tire shop. He swears by them and were bit cheaper then the xi3’s. Was thinking of getting another set of Xi3’s, however lost confidence after he showed me major concerns with the my tires. Tires still head lots of life left, but you could clearly see that the treads were cracking and lifting on the sides. After seeing that, I decided to try out another brand.

Just wanted to get some opinions on then toyo gsi6’s. reviews online seems to be solid, but wanted to get some forum feedback.

Since the introduction of Bridgestone's Blizzak, I believe that a lot of tire companies now have access to the same rubber compounds for winter tires. Therefore, there is not much difference between winter tires produced by the major companies. I have General winter tires on my X3 and Continentals on the 535dx. With the exception of price, I don't see a huge difference between the two brands and the Blizzak's I used to buy. I am sure the Toyo's will work out well.

I have never tried to run a set of Toyo tires on any of my cars before, but upon checking the internet I have read a couple of good reviews about this model.

Quick update

Dry road driving has been great, much quieter then my Michelin XI3’s. Also we got some snow finally in Calgary last night, and so far ice and snow driving has been very stable. We are expecting more snow this week so I will update with deep snow driving. So far very happy with these tires
