Oil Level Warning Not Working
Almost peed myself earlier today (still worried actually) when I found out my engine oil was well below the minimum. The strange thing is that the iDrive didn't warn me as usual. I'm used to getting the warning and filling up 2q every 4-5 months, but I haven't put even 500 miles on the car in the past 7 months so I assumed that all was good.
I ended up doing a complete oil change cause I was worried about how much oil was in the engine. Looks like it was 3q low, so bad, but not the worst thing that could have happened, esp. since I wasn't putting many miles on it. Anyway, I the oil measurement works just fine when I initiate it through the iDrive, and I did find a fault code with ISTA that engine oil was low. So, why is the hell isn't the car warning me as usual through the iDrive?

That was my first reaction too, but then when I found the fault code in ISTA for low oil, I would "assume" the sensor is working.
