Music info stuck while using Pandora via Bluetooth?

First post here so be gentle, guys.

I picked up a super clean, one owner, dealer-serviced 2012 535i xdrive a couple weeks ago for a steal and can finally scratch the BMW itch I've had since I got my license. The car is great, especially coming from a 2006 Subaru that was lacking features standard on 2006 cars from other brands.

I have my phone paired to the car (Pixel 2, Android 9) and it seems that sometimes the info when playing Pandora via bluetooth, the artist/track/album info gets frozen, sort of. The whole computer continues to work fine if I switch to radio or nav or phone or anything, but coming back to the external devices, the info is stuck on what played 2-3 songs or stations ago. Sometimes switching to radio and back to BT audio gets it to work again for one more song before it gets stuck. Sometimes it requires force stopping the Pandora app on my phone or even shutting the car off to fix it. Other times it'll work flawlessly for a 2 hour drive.

Anyone else? Fixes? Just deal with it?

Also, I've got it set in Pandora to allow the car to launch the app but every time I start the car, I have to manually swipe down on my phone and launch it from the notification. Otherwise, the BT audio screen in the car displays whatever it does when waiting for info from my phone. Is this a case of 6 year old car and 2 year old phone or?

I've have that issue come up often, whats helped me is skipping songs using the next track button on the car instead of on the phone.

I’ve had the same issues, although only a few times, while using iTunes Radio while connected through BT. I generally use the iDrive system to skip songs.

Same hear. I skip the song. Doesn't always work, though. When it stops working altogether, I reboot my phone and I'm good for a while.

I have the same issue with Spotify. It seems to be on the phone end for me. Moto Z2 Force. I normally shut off bluetooth and close Spotify then reconnect bluetooth and restart Spotify. After that it seems to work fine. Normally only happens when I am switching from a VOIP call back to music.
