Exclamation 2014 BMW 535i xDrive Preformance upgrade

Hello everyone,

I'm a new member in this forum.

I have a 2014 535i xDrive (F10-N55 engine) and it's my daily driver and I don't want to have issues and check engine lights.
I currently have dinantronics stage 1 chip on it and M Preformance exhaust.

I want to reach 400 or 450 hp.
What do you guys recommend?
I was thinking an air intake+catless downpipe + charge pipe and maybe an intercooler if needed.
Dinan doesn't have stage 2 tune so I think I have to go with JB4 unless you have a better recommendation.
I'm kinda new to the performance tuning stuff.
Please list companies and parts that you recommend.

Hope to hear your opinions.

It’s funny that you posted this because I’m in the exact same boat I have 2013 msport and i have intake and m5 exhaust. I wanna do a stage 2 tune but also is my daily driver and don’t wanna blow something or lights or none of that. I wanna do tune charge pipe and downpipe. Also I don’t know why but I’m
Only getting 15.5 miles to gallon is that normal I know it’s a turbo but please feel free to Chime in ANYBODY????

I have 2013 535i x-drive, and i have these mods installed:-

BMS JB4
BMS Intake
Catless Downpipe
MP Mufflers

with all these mods I got +59 HP , N55 sucks it is impossible to reach 450 HP or even 400 HP , my advice don't waste your money just get 550i

Now that is some woeful ignorance if I've ever seen it. Just because you chose poorly chasing power doesn't mean its impossible.

400-450hp isn't possible with the stock turbocharger, period. It cannot flow a large enough volume to attain that, even with all the bolt on supporting mods about 375hp is all you're going to see out of it.

The stock BOSCH HPFP isn't going to flow enough fuel to support power output in excess of 400hp either.

You're going to have to upgrade the turbocharger, fuel system and get real with the performance software (Not Dinan) I'd recommend checking out Mission Performance. With flash tuning now available JB4's are dead IMO.

Charge pipe is a requisite to doing anything to raise the boost pressure levels, its known to burst under stock boost and I've replaced dozens of them on completely stock cars.

I'm making 450+hp, and after I'm done with my fuel system upgrades I should be good to go up to 600hp/tq without using port injection.

woeful ignorance !? this guy is worried about getting CEL and probably he don't want void the warranty, so you are saying upgrade the turbocharger + fuel system + ECU flash + and plus more modifications , even if you got 400HP not WHP at the end the standard F10 transmission is not rated to handle that much power! no offense but do you have Dyno results of your 535i 450+HP?

Do upgrades in this order, JB4 2 (I have one for sale), down pipe, K&N drop in filter, Intercooler, all these mods are trouble free 99% of the time, if you need more power Stage 1 or 2 turbo

Intercooler is definitely needed or else the car will heat soak and lose most of its power.

Your best bet is going to be

Jb4
Downpipe
intercooler
Charge pipe
E85
Methanol Injection

Pure Stage 2 turbo is needed for this kind of power safely

I too have 2014 535i xdrive. I wish i had bought the 550i at first because stock a 535i is dog slow.......So i tried the BMS Stage 1, also tried the JB4, then wanted something a bit smoother in power delivery so went with the Dinan Stage one. Now i am currently on a Stage One OBD ECU Flash (took 15 min). All on my stock setup with no mods. I can say that without a doubt, the Stage One ECU flash made the absolute biggest difference in power and driveability. It amazes me how big a difference it made. Night and Day...It is also VERY smooth with no Check engine lights. Pushes about 13.5 Psi Stock and it feels Unreal. Its a big difference between a Piggyback tune and an OBD ECU Flash. HUGE diffenece !!! I no longer wish i had bought the 550i

Dog slow? The 535 is only about 1/2 second slower to 60 than the 550. A half second is almost imperceptible.

N55 F10s can easily hit 450whp (AZ Racer is the only one to post a dyno so far)

Getting OBD Flash is the recent leap forward for us, but there will be plenty more to follow.

JB4 ISO is a step up from the regular JB4 PWG... the tiny black diode is well worth removing.

Downpipe, intercooler and MHD Flash tune (coming very soon,). Bootmod3 if you can't wait.

Charge pipe is not needed in most cases. Intake does not add power.

Smile MODS for PERFORMANCE W N55 XDRIVE

Hey man I am new to this forum... but I love to read from the fellow Bavarian owners..... Anyhow as my name states I own a f10 N55 xdrive... I've done quite a few things with more yet to come.... the mods are as follows.
1.)MHD Stage 1
2.)Evolution Raceworks charge pipe
3.)Dropin K&N filter (aside from the the AFE intake system) OEM box is best because closed design and tubing to grille for environmental air instead of hot engine air.
4.)JB4 stage 1
straight piped to quad exhaust/no RES
AND COMING IN THE MAIL FMIC AND AR CATLLESS DOWNPIPE and more than likely a Stage 2 pure turbo! I cant wait to put up the numbers for all to see....

I have been on a Stage 2 for 2 years now, Upgraded turbo for 1.5 years now, 25K miles as Stage 2+ car and no issues (knock on wood). Keep up on maintenance and they are can be very reliable tuned. My car is a solid daily driver and a fun car when I want it.

I should be at 500+ RWHP, Dyno will come in December, I am planning to run No Fly Zone AZ Dec. 15-16th and it will see a dyno before then. I have already shown my dyno of right at 450, but I am definitely well above that level now since adding the inlet and more recent tuning updates.
