I'm thinking about buying this 2011 535 with 77k miles, but the light beige interior carpet and leather looks pretty worn. Do you think this can be brought back to life? Any product suggestions or to restore this would be much appreciated. Open to any thoughts. Thanks!

Mine has the same interior and although it wasn't as bad as yours it was still pretty dirty. My leather around that cubby was pretty worn too but I got it restored to 7/10ths.

I would start with a steamer (McCulloch 1385s or something similar), and a good apc (Meguiars interior cleaner 4:1), a leather brush, a carpet brush, a degreaser (Meguiars Super degreaser 10:1) and go to town with them. I spot cleaned the carpet with a brush, and Folex carpet cleaner. Also, used an orbital buffer attachment for heavy cleaning.

Can't think of the leather kit that I used but if you do a search it will come up.

Good luck!

Had this on my grandpa's 528 too. Got most of it out with leather shampoo/conditioner and some effort. His wasn't this bad though

New set of OEM floor mats, steam clean the rest of the carpet and seats. Looks like that would take care of 90% of it.

For the drivers door handle, find a leather repair guy. Shouldn't be more than $250 max, depending on where you live and who you have do it.

use leather cleaner from Chemical guys which can be found at Walmart. I prefer lexol conditioner and cleaner. Use microfiber towels when cleaning and wiping away the dirt. Also use a soft bristle brush to scrub the seats, do not scrub hard, soft and gentle to raise the dirt from the seats, etc. Take your time. Best thing also is to search chemical guys or Ammonyc on youtube how to clean interiors.

This..dont pay a leather repair guy...read the reviews in this. Also, your leather is called oyster.

I recommend this. The color is spot on. Also that interior color is not oyster. Oyster is lighter and closer to whitish greyish hue

My oyster is closer to a tan. I don't see any white or gray tones.

Probably because of the halogen lighting in the interior, but the touch up paint I ordered from colourlock is very much a mix of grey white and little tan. And I said hues, I didn't say the seats were pure grey or white. Besides anything, the seats he pictured are most deff not oyster

After having restored another car, I suggest the following.

First, get a new cabin carpet. Not the mat that goes on top but the actual carpet. Hunt for a new item on Ebay. You will be surprised how well the cabin will look when it is installed. New upholstery essentially gives you almost brand new exterior.

Secondly, note all the worn items and the items that you touch often. Replace those with the brand new alternatives or take them out and detail them individually. If you don't take them out, you'll get 80% of stuff out. The hardest point of the process is detailing wear/tear around edges that you can't easily see until you take the components out and inspect them from different angles.

If you can score a new steering wheel and re-do the padding on the front seat--old ones start to sag, you'll get a brand new feeling. It takes a lot of time and some $ but it is well worth it IMHO.

Not worth spending all that money on a car that's not worth hat much. I'd pay a little extra money and get a cleaner car. This car was obviously neglected, and if the interior was this poorly taken care of I could only imagine how the maintenance was
